1. Like the maple board with blocks, don't like the mirror with single pot. Would be great with a conventional pearl guard, it really would. Hate badass so would have to swap that out also... some proper fender machines... done!
2. Wow!... super! maybes they could rebuild mine... I foolishly threw the bridge and machines away as they were rusted to buggery.
3. Just spent the last twenty minutes drooling over the 63 Jazz clone... I'm skint tho...
4. Your tort is super close to the real vintage... here's a shot of my 62 tort...
5. That's super... the pearl looks stunning... don't listen to the torters!
6. Missed The Egg last nite... didn't finish our set till 1.30 am so they must have turned up after that... oh well, I'll get to see them next time maybe. Played this bass of the evening...
7. You must get the reverse machines... and the tweed case... you know that!
8. I borrowed a friends vintage Jazz fretless for a rehearsal strung with nylon tapes... was nice, easy on the fingers. Just love my rounds too much.
9. Your tort looks great mr Spitfire... I really can't abide the printed HiRes 'tort' that's being put out at the mo... bloody awful.
10. Lovely... classic look. Got to get more Ps.
11. Wow, you've really nailed the vintage tort there. I need a replacement for my 62 as it's warped a lot. Great job!
12. Hmm... I quite like white three ply on the pastel colours, or mint. Poss red tort... not brown. How about pearl... that would look very nice IMO.
13. Yes... I love the pastel colours on fender basses... sonic blue being my all time fave, followed closely by salmon pink, that shell looks lush tho but.
14.
Q. to bh2 - what is the name of your outfit? I like the sound of what you do.
Yes... We're warming up for The Egg at a party next w/e... should be a blast!
15. Go for it! I play 100% fretless now... I play in a dance/drum&bass outfit and it's a perfect fit... also great for some more groove style chill/ambient. If that makes any sense.
16. Ah... takes me back to my old modulator! Super.
17. Congrats on the Jazz... tort on black is such a classy combo. Now get the frets orf and drop in a J-Retro and you've got mine...
18. Could find any Steve, soz... Found these Stateswide though... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Madisons-Fender-Bass-Precision-Jazz-Tuning-Machines-LOLLIPOP-66-Project-AGED-/170916898797?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item27cb70e7ed I think they're Gotoh's with the top part of the 'clover' filed down.
19. I have a Silver Series Precision... mighty fine bass, although my son won't let me on it. I reckon the machines are fine, Schallers I think, so standard fender types will not fit. A J-Retro is a worthwhile addition to any jazz bass IMO, I have one on my fretless 62 and it's awesome.
20. I had one... it was nicked after it's first gig... man I was paying on HP for nearly two years!
