1. Tort is nice on Fiesta... has to be red tort though... not brown... hang on! Maybes the other way round?
2. Not black...? I agree... tort looks bloody awful on sonic. Has to be white or mint, or.... dare I say...? Pearl?
3. I like the look of the fender Himass bridges... really just for the look. I've had absolutely no probs with the BBOT ones at all though. Pleased with the Gotoh on my orange one, although I'd have been just as happy with the stock. Dunno if the bass was customised or left the factory (Japan) with it... it has all black hardware. The CV Squier bridges look okay if you can find one.
4. Yes... here's mine on the old thing... you prob couldn't tell the difference from a distance.
5.
LPB good... tort good... but not together. The LPB and rosewood 70s vibe demands a mint or parchment pickguard.
Absolutely 100% Tort just looks so messy on these fancy colours, same goes for the more pastel shades like salmon or sonic. Got to be 3 ply though.
6.
Leave it alone and put some thread lock on the saddle screws. There's nothing whatever wrong with the standard bridge.
Indeed... I have a soft spot for the BBOT. They work, look cute and they work. The Gotoh was on the bass when i got it, it's nice but there's nowt wrong with the stock bridge IMO.
7. I have the Gotoh (201 B4) on my fretless p... grooves for the saddle screws...lock solid and himass sort of chunky.
8. A friend of mine has a Vintage fretless which I've borrowed for a couple of rehearsals. It's very nice.
9. Absolutely gorgeous... machines are 70s style though. Love the detail, that neck looks a dream. Nice playing!
10. Superb... Mick turned my 62 jazz (case inhabitant) into a dance monster... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WiE0GkVTWKo Saw him live... amazing... with japan.
11.
Well... look what I just got: I had no intention whatsoever of buying a Jazz, but I went to see someone about a Precision today and they also had this. I just couldn't resist it...
OMG Ramesh! Bloody lovely. What clone year?
12. I don't understand... what are frets? (after Rik... rip)
13. Cor! That would look nice with it's covers on... tort or pearl would round it off. Very nice job.
14. That is superb... maybe a bit heavy on the relic, but superb nonetheless.
15. Nice matt... does it eat the food you leave out for it?
16.
So a YOB Jazz is not an option, for historical reasons!
Yes... I'll settle for a Precision... I have a 62 Jazz, that will have to do. That sonic jazz is my all time fave tho' but. Does yours have the hump? Just curious as to the level of detail.
17. Hmmm my YOB is 57... I thought the closest I would get is a RW Precision (Burst/Anodised). No sponds at the mo... still got an orange fretless P to pay for!
18. Good god... fantastic! I'm green... as green as a green thing from Greenland.
19. I have Barts on my fretless CIJ Precision... I guess it's a custom job so I don't know what it was like before. It's passive but has a lovely tone, quite warm and woody and plenty loud enough.
20. If you're not keen on pearl or white then I'd go mint.... prob anything but tort.
21. Oh my days! Not really a fan of BM but that is a beauty!
