1. I 'borrowed' my daughters luminous pink nail varnish...
2. Oh well...there goes my Road Worn Precision!
3. Okay... I get it... I think...? I'm after a 57 Precision (my birth year). No way could I afford the real deal so it has to be a replica. I'm guessing the RW will be closest to the vibe... although a new one will be nearer my wallet. What a dilemma!
4. According to fender the specs are the same, save finish of course...
5.
There is a bit more to it than that.
Enlighten me.
6. Always fancied the sunburst model... however, new they're about 1200 squids now. Cant find a used one so now looking at the 50s pbass. At around £750. That's nearly £500 for the relic job!
7. Congratulations... what a corker!! That neck looks lovely. If I didn't have a vintage fender I'd be off to Limelight for sure.
8. Oh my days! This thread is bad for my health/GAS/wallet.... More please.
9. That's a lightweight... my 62 Jazz is 11lbs.
10. Are you sure it isn't a Limelight...? only kidding! What a bass... A 57 would be my dream bass... probably looking at 8 grand for that.
11. Yes... Bravewood are super... John offered me a build but I've no sponds. Tough choice.
12. Viola! Super. It is a replica after all.
13. I have three fender basses... MIM 2002 Standard, CIJ 2004 fretless, MIA 62 fretless... all good, all different.
14. I have a MIM Precision I bought blind of the bay a few years ago... a 2002 model. Turned out an absolute peach. Did some minor modding, nothing drastic, mainly cosmetic 'cept I swapped out the machines for some 70's style. A super bass. £250
15. Fantastic looking Jazz... Mark rally nails the mojo. It's got more than my 62. I'm think of a re-restore (bridge, pups, machines, poss refret)) for mine... Devon is a long way for me though.
16. Not so sure about that Jazz... did Fender ever do that colour combo in the 60's? I'd have prefered Sonic blue or salmon/shell pink.
17. HOLY carp...!!! I thought my gas was cured... these Limelights are giving me sleepless nights!
18. Superb... a trans guard would allow us to see even more of that lovely blue.
19. Was never a great fan of relics but lately I've changed... love the RW series, not just for the looks but because they just play so well! Mr discreet's new/old Limelight is giving me the goobers! My 62 Jazz was a wreck when I bought it (mid seventies) never bothered me though. I love it, it's my main gigger... it's a bit of a beater now. My Precision basses were mint when I got them and they're going to stay that way, I get knarked if there is so much as a new scratch or dink, well pissed off in fact.
20. Hi Tim... The CV Jazz is indeed a fine instrument... I recently A/B'd one with a Custom Shop Jazz and a RoadWorn Jazz, both much more expensive and the CV came a close second.
21.
I'd just been doing some research myself on this & pending a better suggestion from anyone else this seems to be the place http://www.classicgu...thumb_rests.php Mine weren't orange though but this guy seems to do custom orders.
May go for Pearliod Gold.
22.
Buy a 60ml touchup pot of Capri Orange and paint it yourself? http://www.ebay.co.u...=item233ca1d7bd How hard can it be..?
Yes... prob the only way.
