Hotcovers are made in Glasgow which is pretty cool. I got a cover made for a TC cab and picked it up.

Thanks for sharing this. I really appreciate Max Richter's work. For those that haven't listened to Recomposed, his version of the four seasons, it's fantastic.

Jimmy Egypt is Glasgow is good. He is in the West end, so you don't have to go into the city centre. He de-fretted a bass for me years ago and did a fantastic job.

Mark Hoppus/Twitch and Rick Beato/WMTSG #110
Crawford13 replied to NancyJohnson's topic in General Discussion
I think Rick's guitar was just tuned down a half step, but he wanted to use an S type with a humbucker in the bridge. Blink play in standard. I love Blink and Mark Hoppus they were my first obsession band when I picked up the bass, and Mark was probably the reason I chose bass. I agree with what a lot of people have said on this thread, he doesn't get the credit he deserves. Even to be able to play at the lightning speed they played live. On top of that the lines are usually more interesting than they first appear. I'm glad he got the all clear from the big C. -
He is awesome, great with Snarky, but his own music is also incredible. His bass player Wes Stephenson ain't half bad either. Wes's other band the funky knuckles are also worth checking out. Also his playing on Bob Reynolds album the guitar band is out of this world.

Jaw droppingly good albums for bass players to hear
Crawford13 replied to Bilbo's topic in General Discussion
Jaco Pastorius - Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooten - A Show of hands, Janek Gwizdala - Live at the 55 bar, Snarky Puppy - Ground Up Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Ben Folds Five - Whatever and ever amen, Pearl Jam - Ten. A recent album that has some really nice bass playing on it is: Hayley Williams - Petals for armour. Joey Howard is a monster, he has a great pocket. -

I always think that Robert Sledge doesn't get the credit he deserves. I love his playing, Ben Folds Five are probably one of my favourite bands. -

This is very true, getting your amp models & IR's right is important.

It's a Peavey UL-12. I'm pretty sure it has the Black Widow driver. I am going in through the effects return on the Genz, so its pretty flat. It has really helped me dial in my Helix tone, much better than my KRK Rokits as it has a recent size speaker.

I would also check out Nordstrand PJ blades. They are fantastic, I have a set and they have such a great range, you can really change the tone with the volume knob, when used passively.

So I was contemplating going the FRFR route with my HX Stomp. I have a garage full of passive PA speakers so I decided to grab one then use my Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 as a power amp. Now I have an FRFR rig with no outlay. I may end up joining the 2022 gear abstaince challenge yet...

I love hipshot products. I have never had any need to deal with their customer service, but it's nice to know it's there if I ever need it.

Pino or Partridge?, 😂

Would I benefit from changing my current pedalboard for an HX Stomp.
Crawford13 replied to obbm's topic in Effects
I replaced my board with a stomp, and for the most part I am very happy. It can do everything my board did and more in a much smaller and lighter package. What I would say is if you are in the position to buy the stomp first and try it first before offloading all your pedals. I would say I got rid of my pedals too quickly, I still miss my Cali76CB, i should really buy another one, but the stomp has decent compressors in it, and I now can't really justify £250 on a single pedal. I guess that shows how good the stomp is. -

This would be my starting point. -
Love Pino's playing on this. A close 2nd is how much I love Alan Partridge's air bass playing to it.
-
I think I would need it on 10% to be able to keep up.

Fantastic album, and some truely masterful playing from the whole band.
