It'll be pretty solid being a Laney, but don't really have a fantastic reputation for bass amplification. The Laney head/cab I used to use at rehearsal wasn't too bad, but was a bit muddy. What's your budget ? We may be able to throw a few options for you to consider.

I find the prawn cocktail quavers the nicest.

Welcome to Basschat ! The BB414 is a great bass, good for rock mainly but can be quite versatile. Which Ibanez SRX had you in mind ? They're mostly pretty decent, but for me the Yamaha would be the choice.

The 15 string is tuned in semitones..muhahahaha

It may be down to an inclination to create more complex work if you have a higher level understanding of more complex music. Simplicity is nearly always a winner in being 'catchy'.

It's an entry level practise amp that has the vibe of a proper stack, kind of. For a 14 year old who loves <insert Ashdown bassist> it's a great amp for them that won't break the bank. They would then in a few years move up to a MAG/ABM etc..

There'll be plenty of room for basses, but try and being a softcase if you can. A stack of hardcases will be a pain in the rear. Make sure you bring a stand too ! Regarding amps. it'd be pointless anyone bringing anything more than a practise amp/small rig. Mega sized rigs are just going to clutter the room up and be overkill. The room is about 10m square, so please consider if you really need to bring that extra cab / bass / kitchen sink with you. Oh yes - i'm bringing (probably sharing rig with tonyf) Ashdown ABM300 + MAG210 Musicman Stingray

I wouldn't use it for anything but home doodling, 65w isn't going to cut it with a drummer and guitarist(s) at normal practise volume (for me).
