1. If you don't think you can do it yourself then the best bet would be to get it down to Trevor at PMT Birmingham. He rewired my Dad's Hohner Precision for £15. Probably take cost more for yours if pots etc needed but give him a ring and see: 0121 359 5056.
2. You're from West Bromwich ?! Oh dear. I've just moved to Great Barr actually and did notice my IQ drop a bit . You shouldn't need any new pots or jack unless your current ones are shot. Just a case of soldering the wires in the same places as you unsolder them..
3. Nice one - I take it you're in a jazz fusion band ?! .
4. Used them a few years ago to order a set of 6 string D'Addario Prosteels, they sent a 5 set. Rang them to complain - they sent the 6 set out the same day with an SAE to return the 5. Didn't have to wait till i'd returned the 5 so thumbs up from me.
5. I like it - offering to buy a bass that he hasn't bought himself yet .
6. I had a BB614. The neck is about half way between a Jazz and a Precision. Soundwise the neck pickup does the business on the BB and can do a nice fat thump without any issue. For the money you can't really go wrong.
7. Personal preference for sure. I had a 2EQ and found it perfectly acceptable.
8. It is changing your avatar, however your old one is being remembered by your browser cache. Either clear you temporary internet files or press Ctrl+F5 on a page your avatar features on and you should be fine.
9. Straight to DVD more like.
10. Super - I think one would look fantastic on my 55-02 .
11. raze, how straight is the weave usually ? It looks a little wavy on the ABM case you have there.
12.
Berating Jake says more about those who need to keep on doing it than it does about Jake himself.
That sums it up for me. The subject has been more than flogged to death..
13.
One question thats not been asked yet - would it cost more money to operate the site if we were to expand the for sale section? Also, more time to moderate as well?
No real issue for the site to expand, there's plenty of capacity. More time to moderate ? Yes, I know I only get brief chances throughout the day to have a look from work, i'd expect some mods have no access at all.
14. I doubt he'll want to come back to be honest, I know I wouldn't.
15. £350 ? That's a good price still, i'm sure you could get matching machines head for it.
16. Just as a note thread views are only updated hourly and thus increase server performance !
17. My personal take on it is to keep things bass/band related. So PA, mixers, bass books etc all fine. I draw the line at MP3 players and laptops used for recording. Of course my own stance isn't neccessarily the policy.. let's leave it for others to answer .
18. Played one of these in PMT Birmingham on Monday... wow that was fun ! Would be great to have one, I couldn't play it properly but it was fantastic.
19. Yeah definitely interested to hear guide prices .
20. Nottingham... yeah not too far. Know of a suitable venue ?

Yikes ! I'm perplexed where he got £550 BIN from. There seem to be some really optimistic people around !
22. I swapped out a Groove Tubes valve put in my amp by it's previous owner for a standard Sovtek 12AX7 and preferred it... It's fun and cheap to experiment so go for it .
23. Saw one in Birmingham PMT yesterday - looked very nice for the price.
