1. It looks a little weathered, nothing some metal polish can't sort though. Definitely a steal for £112.
2. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7653478.stm I wouldn't be surprised if it was linked to ours.
3. I think I got them all.. in Introductions anyway.
4. It will probably have routing underneath the pickguard that will look nasty with it taken off... same for most Fenders unfortunately.
5. I should be there...
6. Definitely send it back - shouldn't do that.
7. Usually it is random noodling for me too. But if I am in a show-off mood it's bits of... Marcus Miller - Power Level 42- Mr Pink RHCP - Mellowship Slinky in B Major (5 string only) Dream Theater - The Glass Prison (5 string only)
8. PMT surprises me. I know a lot of people have left there recently and they may be short staffed.. may be short on time to set up some stuff, but I would expect most is pretty decent. No surprises about [s]Soundcontrol[/s] Reverb.. have never found something I like in there.
9. Which shops were they dabootsy ?
10. The more time I spend with my 55-02 the more it impresses me. The construction is flawless and it's hard to believe this isn't the top of their range... They aren't cheap but compared to US Fenders they're not expensive. I'd expect more cosmetic improvements than anything else on the US range since the electronics are the same (with the 44-02/55-02). It definitely is a hybrid of a Jazz and Stingray, leaning slightly more towards the Jazz but not a traditional passive sounding one.
11. How does he know unless he put it in ?!
12. I bet you were on some archery forum and read up about 'BAS' (Bow Aquistion Syndrome) and it reminded you of the futility of it all .
13. Hmm I'm sure you look familiar !
14. It's 2 stage monitoring, see FAQ 5: http://www.ashdownmusic.com/contact/faq.asp
"On the ABM the EQ is a 2 stage circuit, each stage of this circuit is monitored separately to ensure that there is no clipping in either stage. To allow this to be possible it is not possible to monitor from just one point i.e. after the EQ in/out switching. These monitor points are the most likely parts of the pre-amp to become overloaded and clip and it is essential to monitor both. This also ensures that you do not suddenly decend into distortion when you switch in the EQ because it is monitored all the time. On the ABM this is the most sensible approach for a professional product. On both the EB and the MAG the VU monitoring is after the switching because of the number of comments we have received about this. On the ABM this is not possible (as outlined above)"
15. Ok I just edited 3 posts to remove the unnecessary quoting of the original post and all of the pics ! I'm probably being grumpy though . Amazing amazing score on the Stingray, under £500 is shocking. I thought I valued mine low at £650 but this is bad news for anyone selling, great for buying !
16. A month ago I would have offered you my Stingray 4, that's lovely.
17. The meter on the MAG rises/decays slower than the ABM. End of useless info .
18.
IMHO, there ought to be a Bass Chat desk, manned by volunteers, to gain new members and for existing members to meet up. I'm sure a contra-deal on advertising will mean no money changing hands.
Well go along and see if you recognise some faces - me and ped will be there on a top secret mission !
19. Yeah definitely of questionable heritage. I think he should contact Fodera to check the serial and find the original owner !
20. Luke - I nearly went for that Bacchus after it was offered for my Ray - went for the Lakland 55-02 in the end since I already have a Jazz. How's it sound ?
21. I find mine to work fairly well, if it does clip then I do hear distortion. I try and make sure the hardest I can play a note will just about be under +2dB. Of course it all changes as soon as I change any EQ settings on the head or my bass.
22. I use mine quite a lot. Like people have already said - you change it between songs when some need the presence and some just want to be some solid fundamental.
23. Machines

Wow - i'd pay the cash just to see that neck in person !
24. Where are you from ?! You'll have to be a bit more indepth that that ! Tell us about your gear !
25.
Sorry mate, you've got to be 18 or over to post in here.
And would you believe I got in pubs when I was 16 ?! (which by the way was 9 years ago ).
