1.
This may have come up before, but does anyone know what the "guitar" picture you can select for a user account pic in Windows XP is, or is meant to be?
I'm sure previous consensus was that it's a Tobias Growler.
2. Supply and demand - if they didn't get sales for all their relics they wouldn't make them ! Also they charge so much because there are mugs out there who will buy them at that price, otherwise they'd be cheaper.
3. I'm quite interested in all the positive press these are getting - just don't know if I could cope with only 4 knobs to twiddle !
4.
I really like that. Anyone know where I can buy Stingray scratchplates from?
See here for one for £20: http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/product/STINGRAY_...WHITE_STGB-5304
5. A location will help people decide if they can pick it up since postage is probably quite pricey on this .
6. My old one..
7. Eastcoast are the same as Stagg - so if there's a price difference more fool them ! My personal opinion is that the Stagg seems to have more features to it. The Dean to me looks like a cheap bass with the sides cut off, has a bridge that looks like it's from an electric bass and generally just looks cheaper. I have played a Stagg and it was pretty good - action wasn't quite right but I cold have sorted that out.
8.
i had a new set from the 18th to the 28th, and i was playing and they sounded just fine, bright and great. i put the bass down for a second and i went downstairs for a second. came up to my room again and the E was so dead. then the A and so on shortly after.
Unless you came back with your hands covered in lard I don't know how this possible.
9. So OLP becomes just P ! I very sold my Jazz to buy an OLP MM32 to go with my Stingray. In the end I just traded my Ray for the 55-02. I tried an MM22 out in a local shop and I thought it was fantastic, soundwise fairly close to a Ray but obviously not a patch on it in build quality.
10.
Can't you go into msconfig and remove it from the start up?
+1. However the process name may not be obvious.
11. Looks very interesting with those Nordies - a great price too !
12. That was a good read - thanks for the link .
13. You know it's the law to put pics anyway don't you ? .
14. I think if you know full well you aren't what they're looking for it's dishonest to pretend otherwise. I wouldn't even audition for a band I knew I wouldn't be able to stick with for long.
15. The tuner output is too high an impedence and will be too quiet. If you used the lineout to a preamp of some variety (I use a Behringer V-Amp) then that would work, but of course is a bit of pain and defeats the object. I use an ABM but did have an EB12-180 and it has mostly the same jack sockets .
16.
You also have a PM
Snap !
17. You can currently sort your PM list by username - this is probably as close as you're going to get for now.
18. Wow - http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/79178 I'd never pay that much for a Mexican Jazz - there are so many better options at that price and even more so in the 2nd hand market. Fender must be using the current climate to milk further profits out of the consumer on the pretense of a necessary increase. If the price of 2nd hand Jazzes keeps rising i'll likely sell mine at a profit and get something else.
19.
Apart from the difference in cab building materials, what else is different beteween MAG and ABM cabs? Cheers Matt
They are the same Blueline drivers but with higher power handling than the MAG speakers - I think that's about it really. The main difference in sound between them comes from the construction differences.
20. I've noticed the price of 2nd hand Mexi Jazzes going up on eBay... £300 seems achievable at the moment.
21. Have you tried emailing Ashdown ? http://www.ashdownmusic.com/tech/tech_service.asp
22. I'm of the opinion that Ashdown gear is best matched to it's range. MAG with MAG etc, this however isn't the setup I have - due more to budget more than choice. Main differences are a better build quality of the cabinet with the ABM and it looks nicer ! They use the same speakers though. I know my ABM head sounds much much better through an ABM cab than it does my own MAG, i'd expect it should be the same for the MAG head also. Definitely a case of suck it and see .
23. Erm, thanks for the 'advice' !
24. My opinion is that their cheap stuff is crap whilst their pricier range is pretty decent. The V1004DX I reviewed was fantastic and I still want it..
25. Not that much for me.. IN: Lakland Skyline 55-02 Nordstrand NJ4 Pickups Ashdown Jamez LoMenzo Hyperdrive OUT: Musicman Stingray
