1. That was a good read - thanks for the link .
2. You know it's the law to put pics anyway don't you ? .
3. I think if you know full well you aren't what they're looking for it's dishonest to pretend otherwise. I wouldn't even audition for a band I knew I wouldn't be able to stick with for long.
4. The tuner output is too high an impedence and will be too quiet. If you used the lineout to a preamp of some variety (I use a Behringer V-Amp) then that would work, but of course is a bit of pain and defeats the object. I use an ABM but did have an EB12-180 and it has mostly the same jack sockets .
5.
You also have a PM
Snap !
6. You can currently sort your PM list by username - this is probably as close as you're going to get for now.
7. Wow - http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/79178 I'd never pay that much for a Mexican Jazz - there are so many better options at that price and even more so in the 2nd hand market. Fender must be using the current climate to milk further profits out of the consumer on the pretense of a necessary increase. If the price of 2nd hand Jazzes keeps rising i'll likely sell mine at a profit and get something else.
8.
Apart from the difference in cab building materials, what else is different beteween MAG and ABM cabs? Cheers Matt
They are the same Blueline drivers but with higher power handling than the MAG speakers - I think that's about it really. The main difference in sound between them comes from the construction differences.
9. I've noticed the price of 2nd hand Mexi Jazzes going up on eBay... £300 seems achievable at the moment.
10. Have you tried emailing Ashdown ? http://www.ashdownmusic.com/tech/tech_service.asp
11. I'm of the opinion that Ashdown gear is best matched to it's range. MAG with MAG etc, this however isn't the setup I have - due more to budget more than choice. Main differences are a better build quality of the cabinet with the ABM and it looks nicer ! They use the same speakers though. I know my ABM head sounds much much better through an ABM cab than it does my own MAG, i'd expect it should be the same for the MAG head also. Definitely a case of suck it and see .
12. Erm, thanks for the 'advice' !
13. My opinion is that their cheap stuff is crap whilst their pricier range is pretty decent. The V1004DX I reviewed was fantastic and I still want it..
14. Not that much for me.. IN: Lakland Skyline 55-02 Nordstrand NJ4 Pickups Ashdown Jamez LoMenzo Hyperdrive OUT: Musicman Stingray
15. Rob didn't I tell you to RTFM when you texted me ?! .
16. Thanks for the vid - was good to watch .
17. My wife bought me some D'Addario Prosteel Super Longs (45-130) for my 55-02 .
18.
or c) Supporting Membership.
Yes you are quite right. It gives a lovely example of a reason not to have paid for memberships here.
19. I've been a member there longer than I have here but probably only have about 20 posts to my name. I find it a bit clicky if you don't have a) an old Fender or an exotic US made custom bass (this of course is my perception). They are definitely very easily offended and have little sense of humour.
20. Just looked it up... 12kg ?! That's not a fat lot !
21. I had this happen on my 55-02 last week, just shoved a bit of cardboard in the hole and tightened the screw back in.. tighter than a really tight thing.
22. Any Wish Bass... although I suppose they aren't really popular .
23. No pics ?!
24. Before I got my Yamaha RBX775 I wanted an EDA905, when I did try the Ibanez I found the sound too modern and a little brittle for my liking. You may find it hard to get traditional sounds from it due to the non-wood body, single pickup and piezo. The only thing you can really do is experiment with your hand positioning and EQ, if you can't get the sound you want after doing that then i'm afraid it can't be done .
25. It's that cooker that's getting me hot under the collar. Think of how many pots and pans you can have on the go ! It also seems to have an Ashdown style VU meter .
