1. A reminder to all that it's the sellers prerogative to advertise their item at whatever price they see fit, and if anyone considers that price to be too high then to please PM the seller rather than publicly ridicule their price.
 2. I had a 5 string version when I first started and it was ok. For £80 you can't go wrong but don't expect it to play or sound great !
 3.
Is that a photo top?
Yeah I thought that too...
 4. I demo'd one at Bass Day UK on the Bass Direct stand with the exact setup you are thinking of. It had an amazingly full tone for what's quite a small rig ! It VERY expensive however, and unless size is your major turning point then you may be ok with what you have. We had lots of people try it out and I don't think anyone wasn't impressed by it. Urb spent a lot more time on it than me - if he pops online and see's this i'm sure he'll comment . My only major gripe was the fact the volume control was on the back of the cab.. not easy to adjust on the fly. However it doesn't matter how much any of us praise it - you need to get down to Leamington and try it out .
 5. It's ok I have a Skyline 55-02 and know what quality to expect, i'm really not snobby about where something is made anymore.
 6. I love the sound of that 50's one, the only thing that puts me off is the colour.
 7. It's only 4 years old ! They are most certainly having a long necked African mammal.
 8. Don't like the Butterscotch as much and don't like the Sonic Blue at all... how much are these Skyline versions anyway ?
 9. I've had similar - when I got my ABM it was missing a screw cap, offered to buy one but they sent it out. When my valve stage failed they sent me a new pot for it without a further thought. Now let's not have it be said that i'm some kind of Ashdown fan boy because it isn't true !
 10. I've tried a couple of Jaguar basses in shops and encountered this same issue - I think it's flawed by design.
 11. I've quietly been admiring the Decade - it does look reasonably original which isn't a common occurance nowadays ! I think it looks fantastic in that finish, can't think what it'd look better in either. Nice cooker too .
 12. As above really, if it didn't sound overdriven then it wasn't a problem. I run my Skyline into my ABM under the passive option, gives greater sensitivity to any changes I make.
 13. You must have the most infamous bass on here ! Don't you dare ever sell it or you don't know how much trouble we'll give you .
 14. Nice to see it get there at last ! Hope you enjoy it, looks lovely.
 15.
Well I can only assume from a lack of reply to my request that there are technical issues. As databases are my day job I thought I would mention that its a good idea to do housekeeping before the database ground to a halt. That happened with bassworld and I had to help the admin to sort it. Perhaps you should think about it now. You can start by deleting all the threads with C**t in them
Lol. Don't worry about it bass_ferret we've got far better technical resources now then when Bassworld was having issues. .
 16. This is getting silly.
 17. Hahaha ! Fantastic stuff ! I'm sure there's plenty of us that could do with a copy .
 18. Sounds reasonable to me.
 19. Because the head would overheat. Have a look here, good article and reasonably easy to understand. http://wiki.basschat.co.uk/info:amps:impedance_and_wattage
 20. How did it sound with that TVX cab ?
 21.
Get your arse into gear and refund the Beedster...or we'll send Kev round to live with you.
Truly evil.
 22.
I am trying to decipher the whole amp thing. its complicated.
You're not wrong, there's lot's of terminology and concepts that you have to get to grips with ! I'm still learning things myself.
 23. This isn't just me being biased towards Ashdown - but I really wouldn't bother with the Fender.
 24.
Or just the MAG C410T 300 combo, because the 4x10" can handle 450w (according to the ashdown web catalog).
Not sure on that one - I was under the impression the MAG410 ran at 8ohm so you can still have another cab. Sure the cab can handle 450w but the head won't put anywhere near that through it.
 25. For me since 2002:

Squier Bronco - Fiesta red, first ever bass, got it cheap and didn't know any better ! Sold.
Stagg BC305 - Sunburst, first 5 string, in hindsight it was a dog. Sold.
Stagg MB300 - Black, Stingray copy, not too bad but passive. Sold.
Yamaha RBX775 - Flat blue metallic, 21st birthday present from parents, still got it and have defretted it, sounds fantastic.
Vintage V940FL - Bubinga PJ fretless, great bass but terrible electronics. Sold.
Spector Q6 Pro - Holoflash black, from SoundControl for £330, sold it a year later for £300 after I couldn't get on with the high C and also it didn't sound as good as the RBX. Sold.
Yamaha BB614 - Natural, bought by my Dad from PMT for £250, swapped it later for the Jazz.
Ibanez Musician MC900 (1980) - Bought from PMT for £250 (again !), cleaned and later swapped for the Stingray, nice profit there !
Fender Jazz (2000) - Sunburst, swapped BB614 for this, setup wasn't great but have since put Nordstrand pickups and D-Tuner on it, had an issue with stripped truss rod nut but have since managed to fix that. Sounds wicked now.
Musicman Stingray (1996) - Everything a Stingray should be, natural body + maple neck, yum ! Sold.
Lakland Skyline 55-02 (2005) - Natural, swapped for Stingray as I wanted a fretted 5 string again, probably the best of the lot. Does every sound I want and a fantastic neck.
Hohner Arbor Precision 1985ish - Bought by my Dad from a pawn shop for £40, since rewired and setup - sounds fantastic ! He's got it at the moment but said he'll get bored of it soon as it's mine (he plays guitar). Weighs a tonne and the neck is HUGE, but it's solid as a rock.
