  1. Looks like this beautiful Roscoe fretless 6-string is going away cheap on eBay! Seller is Deezbar of this board. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Left-handed-Roscoe-SKB-6-String-fretless-Bass/253657500840?hash=item3b0f2a4ca8:g:wnsAAOSwiHZbDnnP
  2. As a beer enthousiast, I was referring to IdrinkHeineken
  3. Somewhere in June, and no. I read it on leftybassist.com, it was posted by a member who works in a music store and got a mailing from Fender. Supposedly they're replacing the MIM Standard series, same way the American Professional replaced the American Standard.
  4. Awesome! I'm looking at getting one for my Jazz. I love the varitone in my old righty Ibanez ST924, and kinda liked the one in my Aria SB-1000 too. Would be a great solution.
  5. That's not a username to be proud of Nice find, cool bass! Those old USA Peaveys are very underappreciated IMO.
  6. Are they up for sale yet?
  7. I played a Lefay Herr Schwarz 5-string once that blew me away. So beautifully made, well thought-out, and barely any standard parts. Nearly everything was made specifically for or by Lefay. Super comfortable to carry and play, and a great variety of awesome and useful tones via a rotary switch. But I couldn't afford it!
  8. I forgot to mention: it seems both a J and a P will be on offer.
  9. There's a new Player series coming up, made in Mexico, with a choice of maple or pau ferro fingerboard, and apparently not just black and sunburst either.
  10. Holy thread resurrection Batman! For some time a few years ago, Gibson would even install righty wiring harnesses in their lefty SG basses with the jack and tone control flipped
  11. Sire is producing lefty P's these days, with an added J pickup and active 3-band EQ (but also a passive mode). Looks nice, and so far the reviews are raving. I do believe they have a Jazz Bass neck width. But yeah, a MIM level Fender P would have been nice. Especially the Classic Series.
  12. My current number one bass would be my Status S2 Classic 5-string, I love almost everything about it. The looks are a mix of wonderfully quirky 80s and futuristic at the same time. The playability is fantastic, the range of tones almost infinite, and it rarely detunes. Incredible instrument! My amp is actually a bit of a love-hate-affair. I play through an EBS HD350 with an EBS Proline 410, and it sounds great but can be a little pushy and overly middy. I often use an Ampeg SVP-PRO tube preamp straight into the power amp and it's great. One time at a gig with shared backline I played my amp setup through two SWR Goliath II's and they blew me away. Best live tone I ever had. So I guess I may be looking for a new cab
  13. I'm usually dead tired after a gig, so I have no trouble sleeping when I get home. After all the lugging with equipment, loading our cars back up and pulling everything out again at our rehearsal space, it's usually quite late too. Gigs after a regular day's work were always the worst.
  14. It's on hold. Anyone here?
  15. OMG! If only I had 1299 GBP laying around...
  16. When I'm looking to try out a new bass, I rarely go to music shops. I buy most of my gear used from the internet, and for me it has been a great way to try out many different basses. I've probably owned over 30 throughout the past 15 years, from cheap beater basses to used high-end custom instruments. It has really helped me define what I like in a bass, but at the same time I've found that I can get along with many types of bass. Various scale lengths, all kinds of neck profiles from ultra thin to baseball bat, and many pickup configurations. I have since found several definite keepers, but the chase is still on
  17. I think Steinberger would probably do well today with their models with full bodies. Headless designs are getting increasingly popular again, especially in the (technical) metal scene. Carvin / Kiesel headless designs are quite popular (the Vader model), Mayones makes a headless guitar, Strandberg is doing very well, and people are willing to pay good money for them.
  18. I bought a new 4003 in Mapleglo in 2009. Loved the looks and tone, but really disliked the (lack of) ergonomics, the square feel of the neck and the bridge keep falling backwards in the tailpiece. Would love a 4003s one day, maybe with a Hipshot replacement bridge.
  19. Nick Cave & Kylie Minogue Bone Thugs n Harmony & Phil Collins Lady Gaga & Metallica at the Superbowl
  20. I love those aluminium Sadowsky style knobs. I have bought 8 recently, and 4 of them will be adorning my Warwick Streamer LX5 soon. I think they add a luxurious look that the standard knurled brass knobs lack, as much as I like them. The Warwick ones are pretty cool, the pointer on top of the knob is not just a small notch but actually a little hole that goes through the entire knob. It's near impossible to read though!
  21. I remember a website from a guy who sells replica SureGrip knobs and EQ knobs for Ibanez Musicians and Artists. They're identical to the ones used on these Greco's. I can't find it anymore though! Edit: Nevermind. Right here! Wickedly expensive at 12 dollars PER KNOB though, and there's a shipping fee. https://www.reproguitarparts.com/#!/EQ-knobs/p/5629649/category=1391098
  22. An 80s E-series Squier medium scale!
