Interesting weekend... On Saturday night, one of my bands played on a ferry that went along the Tyne from Tynemouth to Newcastle. It was one of the small passenger ferries so it was a bit of a squish, but it was fun. Today was The Mouth Of the Tyne festival, supporting The (formerly Beautiful) South, and Heaven 17. Anyone 'round Newcastle got a Compact or a Midget I could have a quick go of?

I'll find out what key we're doing it in - it's probably not the recorded key - then listen to it a few times until I know the song and the line. I'll then sit down with my bass, and hopefully be able to play most of it off the bat. I'll spend a bit of time working the tricky bits out. It works for me, but then it's the only way I know.

Ah - I read 'STL' as Streamliner.. The Walkabout is a great amp...

Incidentally.. like me, you have experience of the Streamliner and the Walkabout. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts...

Wow.. that's so cool. Thanks for the commentary. I like the idea of the switch, as the pre-master signal might be handy sometimes. I'm completely cack-handed so I'd ask someone who knows what they're doing to do it... let us know how you get on!

[/quote] I have a feeling - and I'd love to be proved wrong - that many / most of manufacturers of class D brands have been a little fanciful with the truth when it comes to wattages, i.e. it's not just TC who have an excessively creative marketing department. If that's the case, then EBS are to be applauded for keepin' it real.

Yeah, but I prefer the 'usual' approach you find on most forums (and BC before the migration) - i.e. you get a single notification when there's a reply. My inbox is creaking under the weight of people congratulating me on my various witticisms.* [size=2]*not really. it is rammed, though.[/size]

Most of my EQ'ing involves rolling off the low lows, which brings out the low mids, calms the boomy rumble and helps avoid 'death by sub-bass' - something far too many engineers revel in. It generally makes for a tighter signal to the desk.
