1. This is withdrawn until further notice.
2.
I've just noticed that the strap pin isn't in the middle of the neck but on the top half of the body. Is this the case with all Spectors?
yes, pretty much it is. I love this feature, helps a lot with the balance.
3. I'm a Spector player myself and I have to say that their instruments represent a very good quality in each price segment. I have yet to try their new Legend NT basses but from what I've heard they are very good. I have had a Korean Spector from before the Legend series and it was stupidly good bass (neck through) Only sold because I needed a five string bass at the time. I think they sound good and Spectors have excellent ergonomics, too.
4.
I really wish this had 5 strings!
You can always remove one..... :-) Still for sale!
5. DAT fretboard is wide enough to land a Boeing Jumbo....... ;-)
6. I had a SR506. I sold because I was not using it but that was one of the most comfortable six string bass i have ever owned. That was back when it was produced in the Cort factory in Korea and it was of flawless quality. The sound was quite nondescript though, but was quite easy to work with and that is one bass I wish I've never sold despite now owning two Ibanez Sr Prestige six strings. I would not waste my time with the Brice.....
7.
That's a great price! It's making me want to learn to play left handed now!
Exactly :-)
8. Mark, all the best if you decide to move this beauty. I had a AB5 for a while, fabolous instrument but my Spector works better in the music I play and this is where I feel home at. I felt that my Dingwall was a joy to play and liked its sound while practicing but my I ended up bringing my Euro5 to the gigs and recordings I did. So I did the math and sold it. ( I guess the NG2 has a lot more character to it though)
9. Move along people, nothing to see here. He shall come to his senses.
10. I have tried / owned most of the basses you have. I assume it is 4 strings and fretted, so based on your current staple and my personal opinion I'd buy a Spector Euro. It is ergonomic, great sounding and nice looking.
11. Thanks Gents, you are not making it easier for me....still on the fence after playing it today. Lovely bass with exceptional quality.
12. I'm thinking of selling my Ibanez SR5006. It is a holy grail for me as far as six string basses go, but I have it for 1,5 years now and hardly ever play it because all my recording and gigging projects use my trusty Spector 5 string. And apart from these I really don't have time to noodle at home or work on some six string bass-related material. This post is kind of feeler, if there is interest out there for this price then I'm willing sell, otherwise happy to keep. Maybe things will change. If you are looking at this ad you probably know these basses and the high level of craftmanship they represent. The bass is all stock, Made in Japan and of the highest quality. Weight is around 4,5 kg. I have added a custom made wengé ramp that matches the radius of the pickups, it is held in place by double sided tapes underneath. I'm the second owner and it is in a very good condition with some minor play wear. Everything works fine and I tried to capture every part fo the bass on the photos so you can really see it as it is. Lots of high quality pics here: https://www.dropbox....b5qYzjFxga?dl=0 900 GBP (half of the new price, they go around 1800) Included in the price is the Prestige HSC and shipping within EU. No trades this time unless it involves a Spector NS-5XL (and cash from my side) Thanks for watching and let me know if there is anything you want to know or I've forgotten to mention. (again, see the dropbox link for many HQ pics)
13.
Looking into buying a Euro LX anyone got any info on how they compare to a fender jazz? Used to playing my jazz/jaguar. Had a spector legend years ago and recall the necks being skim and fast but I was wondering what the euro models are like? Any info is appreciated
As for the rest of the bass, it is more ergonomic (for me) than a Fender bass. Smaller body that has an arch to it, lighter weight and a tone to die for :-)
14. From my experience of 5 string Spector Euros the neck profile do have some variety depending when it was made. My latest Euro5 has a slim (front to back) neck whereas the old NS5 CR from the same factory had a chunkier neck. I assume the OP refers to 4 string Euro's, which I had only one but I never thought it had a chunky profile. Maybe because that was my only 4 string bass at the time and anything 4 string seemed to be tiny compared to my 5 and 6 string basses.
15. Hey Mark, you surely will regret it, don't you? Anyway, you have your share of Spector goodness apart from this beauty, too, so you're safe :-) Bump for a great seller, it was always good to deal with Mark (Bassulike66) Killer bass and price, BTW.
16.
I've played this and it's stunning! Thankfully for me, it's not fretted haha Si
My sentiments, exactly! :-)
17. I've been watching this in the prev ad. Stunning piece and one of the few basses in the classifieds lately that really caught my attention. I'm not game for this one but whoever will buy/trade this will be happy I believe.
18. David, this comes from a fellow Spector player. Haven't tried myself but from what I've gathered the MM pickup is too close to the bridge on the Rebop and it makes the bass a bit thin sounding. Some Spector players installed an extra neck pickup. Again, the MM pickup is NOT in the 'sweet spot' we have come to love with the single pickup Stingrays.
19. Still for sale. Make me an offer I can't refuse :-)
20.
Just been playing it again this evening and think I'm going to keep it, it's just too good! The house stuff is going to have to wait!
A wise man you are Sir.
21. There are black ones, it was on of the color options back in the day. But all of the colors had matching headstock, so this one had the neck swapped I guess. You can see that the body-end of the neck is a different black than the body, it think that's a refin to match the body color. But I think the OP will clarify this.
22. Ned Steinberger is a genius when it comes to bass guitar ergonomics. I'm a big fan of his design of Spector basses, the NS series and I think these Radius basses are really well thought out.
23.
Makes total sense for accurate intonation when you think about it (not convinced about the rest though), never seen or heard of such a system before, consider me schooled!
Thanks! I think it is an interesting feature, but after all this is a high quality classic jazz bass with 5 strings, nothing more and nothing less :-)
