Dear All, I'm thinking about letting this bass go to make funds for another incoming Spector. I use my modded Euro5 and this one sees limited use. In fact I never took to gigs or rehearsals at all since I have it. Anyway. This is from the SSD (Stuart Spector Design) era when he was fighting for the use of Spector brand and that dates the bass to the late '90. The NS5-CR is the predecessor of the Euro (and later, Euro LX) line, all of these were and still is made in the Czech Republic. The main differences compared the current Euro LX line: - 34" vs. the current 35" - full maple body wings vs. the current alder/walnut/maple - EMG preamp vs. current TonePump - abalone dot inlays vs. current crown inlays As an addition info, this bass has the EMG DC pickups, neck through construction, contoured body and high gloss finish. The EMG is a BQ preamp with bass and treble boost/cut. The sound is very strong and clear but not aggressive. The condition is pretty good for a 15+ years instrument. No missing finish, chips or big dings. Smallre swirls, microdents can be found and the only visible sigh of the ageing is the discolouration of the gloss finish on the front of the headstock. One of the small screws missing form the truss rod cover. Frets could use some levelling at certain positions, but that may be because I use a very low action. Neck is very strong, truss rod works fine and all in all it is a great instrument.

Very fair price for this bass. I have owned two Californias and while I sold them I think they are great basses in this price segment with lots of options and are well built. Somebody will be happy with this.

These are great basses. I had one for some years and the Barts in it and the wood combination gave me a really even sounding bass in all registers. I especially loved how broken-in Rotosound steel strings sounded on this bass. The neck is quite slim and narrow for a 7 string and the whole thing ballances well due to the well designed locations of the strap-pins. I always regretted the fact that Conklin did not produce a 6 string version of the GT (only 7, 5 and 4) That would have been a near perfect bass for me. Good luck with the sale!

Hey Mike, wonderful bass you have here. being a Spector player I'd love to buy this but priorities are not short scale basses this time for me.. For those looking to buy this bass: Mike bought one of my basses last year and could not have wished for a smoother transaction. Great gentleman to deal with so have all the confidence.

TJ, you have a magnificent example of a Dingwall here. I'm at the moment Dingwall-less, but this would be a very good choice if I could have the possibility to buy it. Alas, I can not, but have a free bump on me. P

I had this very model (Korean SR506 from 2006) as my first six string Ibanez Soundgear and I still remember the warm, round sound and the playability (at that time I had a six string BTB and I did not like it's neck at all) Unfortunatley I have absolutely no reason to buy this as I'm the owner of two Prestige six string Soundgears and can not use them as much as I'd like to. But for anyone who's looking for a well rounded six string bass with quality sound, craftmanship and ergonomics and all of this for a fair price don't look further.

It's my old bass. Great playing and sounding piece of kit and it's really light. Nice Miller-like slap tones. Sold only because I play Spectors... :-)

Slightly off-topic, but where did you get the inlay stickers? I wanna put them on my NS-5CR. Thanks! And have a free bump from a fellow Spector player!

Nice bass! I like to think that there is always a place for a Spector at my home but this is slightly out of my budget right now. But as a Spector player and a bike rider I say you should keep both the bass and the motorcycle..... Anyway, have a free bump and good luck with the sale!

You should keep it. It is a wonderful instrument and as Spector user myself, I'd take it off your hands but haven't got this cash lying around.

The 3006E has been with me for quite some years, once I sold and bought back (the only bass I ever bought back) So it gotta stay eventhough currently it doesn't get much playing time. Maybe you should keep this, too. I honestly think that these MIJ Prestige Ibanez basses are really special and has their own charm which I don't normally find in many other basses. Anyway, good luck with the sale!

These 2nd series TRB's are excellent value for the money. I have used this very model and it's six string version. High quality craftmanship and a wide array of sounds are possible with these. Eventhough I've drifted away from Yamaha, I can not recommend these enough, especially for this price. Free bump! :-)

I hear you....I sold my old Spector pre-LX Euro some years ago and wanna get back. Fortunately it 's with one of my friends and if he'll sell I'm the buyer. But back on topic: somebody buy this Ibanez Sr1006, one of the best value basses in the Classifieds right now.

Mark, no worries about the Dingwall. I'm not that keen to move that, but I play my Spector most of the time, too. (so you did very well with the Transblack!)
