I've owned a NT5 from '91. It was just not for me, just as others said before the main issue was the 1st position was to far of a reach. My Dingwall with 37" B string has the 1st position around the same place... The sound was ok, but for the band I was playing at time other basses did the job better. (Spector) With all this being said some of the best fretless tones I've ever herad came from Thumbs. Should I ever go seriously for the fretless way, I'd get a Thumb and forget all the nuances and just play it.

Just received a wondreful Dingwall from Dave. It was well packed and made it in one piece to Hungary. The whole transaction was flawless, I'd deal with Dave again without a second thought. Thanks man!

Also worth noting that this model has a 34" scale lenght unlike later models NS5CRFM and the EURO 5 LX that have 35" scale. I've seen people looking for 34" 5 string Czech made Spectors so thought I add this. I owned this model, but one year earlier with the SSD logo. That is a bass I miss even though I'm happy with my 35" Spector EURO5. Good luck with the sale!

Thanks for the kind words. I think six string basses are still a niché, so it is not a surprise that they move slower, even if they are of a well known brand's tried and trusted model line. Probably the fact that I'n not in the UK does not help as well. But that's ok. I think there is a buyer somewhere who will enjoy this bass as much as I enjoy its five string sister which is my main bass. (EURO5) Paul
I will always have a sweep spot for these Japaneese TRB's.
Ehhh well I wish I could be sweep picking as good as to have a sweeP spot LOL :-) So it is a sweeT spot I wanted to write. BTW this TRB is getting so much love here that I'm sure it will be gone soon.

So I had a TT5 with the two band EQ. Pickups were Delanos. It was with alder boby and maple board. It was my first modern jazzbass and quite liked it. The neck was comfortable, the stringspacing as well, only it was a tad bit heavy. Quality was really good and it had a feeling of a well made instrument. After I got my Sadowsky I sold it but still hold these basses in high regard. I think if someone is on the market for an active 5 string jazzbass kind of instrument, Sandbergs are one of the best bet in this price range.

After much contemplation, up for sale is my Spector Euro 6LX Pics:https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xxlt0ej34lncwe5/AAAECBjdYYA-RwCC-EOFlCuza?dl=0 My Spector Euro 5 is my main bass, I get the all the 'Spector tone' I need from that and I use that bass for about 100% of my gigs and recordings these days and I have a new six string bass coming in that I intend to use for other projects so I figure I'm letting this go. This Euro 6 is all stock, 35" scale, 24 frets, EMG DC's, alder / walnut / maple wings, non-adjustable TonePump preamp. The finish is something I'd call natural. it is not the gloss finish or the matte clear coating I had / have on my other Spectors. Very silky feeling, I wish my Euro 5 had this finish. Condition is good, it has some marks around the pu area, but they are not really visible from even a couple of feet due to the figure of the maple top. It has one of the best figured maple top I have ever seen for a Euro model Spector. Price: Sold! Price includes a generic hard shell case and shipping within the EU. This costs almost 2000£ new. (1999 to be precise in BassDirect) No trades thank you. Thanks, Paul

I'd go on the second hand way if I were you. 3K is a lot of money and you can find many basses far below that limit that are really good and can do many things. And once you get your preferencs together, you can spend high money to get the ONE. I have found that ergonomics are playing a much bigger role for me with a six string bass than with the fivers. String spacing, neck dimensions, scale lenght, weight etc. are more crucial for me with the six string basses. So can be good to go through a couple of basses to get a feel of what your preferences are. From my personal experience: Ibanez SR Prestige line: Japaneese craftmanship, great basses. I own a SR3006 and SR5006. Tight spacing, very comfortable basses and they have a very useful sound throughout the fretboard. If I were to bring only one six string bass to the deserted island till my dying days, this would be that. Yamaha TRB 6 strings. The II series bolt on necks are selling stupidly cheap and are freat (TRB II6) 19mm spacing, 35" scale but the nect is thin around the nut end and very comfortable. The high end TRB 6IIP is one of the most verstaile basses I have ever heard, its got piezzo as well. This is quite rare used and holds its price. Spector EURO6: great Spector sound, 35" scale. I own one currently and exploring the possibilities of it. I love the sound of it (my EURO5 is my main instrument )

I always love to play this song by world/fusion/jazz band Djabe. Not really hard to learn (unline bassist tamas Barabas's other lines) and sound great when played along. http://youtu.be/BycYUW3HJw0
