I like these Thumb NT's. Kinda class in their own, even within the WW staple. I have owned and used a Thumb NT5 from '91 and while we weren't getting on too well I still respect the unique features of this model. Also I have to say that some of the best fretless sounds I have ever heard were coming from Thumb fretless basses. Have a free bump and good luck with the sale.

I've just sold an Ibanez SR1005EFM that has a really good B string and I believe its new price was under 1000 GBP. That bass is 34", neck through and has decent woods. So there are exceptions but I have to agree that higher build and material quality will yield better B sound
Also I have yet to find a 5-string bass, of any scale length, with a new retail price of under £1000 that has a decent sounding and feeling low B. +1 I have found .135 strings working well for A on a 34" scale. I have also found that strings with tapered end gave me slightly more pronounced sound. I is all now not an issue with my Spector 5 string (35" scale)
All about string tension. Currently have a 34" scale 4 string tuned to Drop E/Drop Eb (one octave below normal E on a 4 string) and there have been talks (which I've hushed but they keep coming back!) of finding the brown note of low C#... I find the lower you go, the more you need to work on it. And shape your tone to match, cutting the excessive low lows and dialling in the right mids to still stay articulate. For reference I use between a .100 and a .110 for a standard E on a 4 string (.110 is my preferred in standard tuning), with a .130/.135 for a low B and in Drop A use a .140. For A standard I like .140/ for the A and .115 for the D.
Due to a twist of fate in late summer I have ended up with more Spector Euros than I can handle (if ever there is such a thing...:-) ) One Euro6 and two Euro5's. I have decided to move one of the Euro 5's, the blue one with the gloss finish because I can not stand as she's staring at me from it's stand full of blame (due to not being played) It is a great instrument but I seem to prefer satin finish'd Euros to gloss ones The bass is a full stock Euro 5LX, 35" scale, maple/walnut/alder wings, EMG DC's and Tonepump (non adjustable). Color is a lovely blue that can be black or blue depending on how the light hits it. It has some small dings on it, the worst is a chip on the lower edge (see pic) These are cometics, the bass works and plays 100%, (truss rod, electronics etc.) Action is low and the strings have plenty of life in them. This one is for sale for a firm 800£. This price includes shipping within the EU. It does not have a case but will be packed well. Also includes of your choice of knobs: the current gold ones or the stock black ones. Let me know which one you prefer and I ship with those on. I'm looking for sale, but am willing to listen to trade offers, but you have to be able to ship the bass you are offering to Hungary. Stingray 5s, 6 string Ibanez, Spector US XL's, Zon basses, Sadowsky 5's etc. can be of interest. I can add cash for the right trade. (not amps and cabs, except for a pair of EBS 112 NEO'S) Please don't be offended if I say no as I'm happy with the selection of basses I have.

Mike bought an Ibanez SR1005 from me. Good communication and fast payment made it really easy for me. He even endured my Paypal mistake (gave him my other email address for it :-)) Hope he can discard all the packaging material I put around the bass to have it safely shipped to England (hey, it made it there in one piece :-) )

I've sold my Sadowsky to Nico some weeks ago. The whole international transfer was flawless. After we made the deal Nico transfered the money immediately and within days the bass was in his possession in France. Have a great time with the bass Nico!
