1. Still for sale / trade.
2. I had a Orion 5 string and I have sold it within weeks of receiving. Ergonomics and the sound was not there for me. Still have the respect for the brand.
3. String spacing is a matter of personal teste I think. I'm so used to the 16.5-17mm spacing of my Ibanez and Spectors that the only thing I hate about my Sadowsky is the 19 mm spacing. I keep feeling my fingers fall in between the strings and the distance makes my digits work more. (but the sound and the feel of that bass makes up for that)
4. Cash or trade offers are welcome! Market seems to move a tad bit slow these days so I'm open...
5. Ibanez GWB35. It is a well thought-out instrument with nice features. It has a quite strong attack and not-so-soft sound for a fretless. I have used this in a metal band and it did cut through,if you want I can dig up the recording I did with it.
6. Hey, you can always sandblast the black finish :-) Thanks!
7. Thanks! Still for sale!
8. I use only one bass for the sets and I only carry a set of spare strings. The guitarists use at least 3 different tunings, but I've transposed everything so I can play them in standard (BEADG) tuning. Only exception is a couple of songs where I need a low A, so I just mute the signal with the TC Polytune, tune down (or) up afterwards and thats it. Also sometimes we play certain numbers where I use Drop D on the five string (BDADG) I transposed them also, but gradually started to use drop D, because they play better with the open D string and also playing comfort increased. Sounds silly, I know. I tend to use quality instruments I look very well after, so in my 8 years of gigging no basses failed me on stage or before a gig. Not even a broken string. (same goes for rehearsals)
9. Just bought an amp from Phil. Deal with him with confidence!
10. I'm open for cash offers as long as the bass I have my eyes on is available. Don't forget that shipping is included in the price!
11. These are good basses. I had one for a while, only sold because I used my Yamaha TRB 6II more and that neck profile was more to my liking. As with other Yamahas, you will have a lot more bass for your buck than with other brads.
12. Probably a 5 or 6 string Ibanez SR, either Korean neck through or Japanese prestige bolt-ons. Or a Fender 4 string J or P, preferably CIJ if I can catch one. All used of course.
13. I have bought an EBS amp from Simon. It had to travel over Europe, but he packed it well and the amp is here in one piece and working nice! The transaction was very smooth despite the international logistics. So deal with Simon with confidence, anytime!
14. If this is your first time to own a 7 string, I'd recommend to buy a used Conklin, much easier to sell if 7 is not your world. I had a Conklin GT7 for a couple of years and I have to say that was one of my best sounding bass. (owned many spectors, yamahas, ibanez etc.) You can check how it sounds on the link below Although I did not use its full range it this song, you can get the idea how it sounds. I used only a EBS compressor and a EBS microbass DI for the recording https://soundcloud.com/bluevoodoo/minds-mirrors-counting-on-me Also this Conklin was the bass where I could reach the lowest action, tapping was incredibly easy and the nect was stable. I have no experience with other 7 string basses, but I do know Conklin GT7, hope my input helps.
15. :-) Good point :-) Still for sale!
16. Quite some interest lately but no takers yet. Still available. Sensible cash offers welcome. Also trades are ok, shot me a PM or reply on what you have, worst I can say is no thanks.
17. I've just received a wonderful Spector from Mark. It was packed well, the deal was smooth and I'm impressed. This is the beauty of being a bass player, to meet nice and trustworthy guys that share the same passion and deal with honesty.
18. I'd consider EBMM Stingrays 5 for trade, too. Preferably with maple board.
19. Yeah, I keep coming back to it, fortunately it is 35" and I swore years ago that I stick to 34".... Also good band, Haken, checked a couple of songs and I like them! GLWTS!
20. That Streamer 6 has 20mm string spacing at the bridge, right?
21. Thanks man! It's a great record and stood the test of time for me. Also Accident is a good record, too. I remember when this one came out, we all thought this is how Maiden should sound instead of the records they did that time with Blaze. Anyway, two more vids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_91rZFUXXI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyWpQ5LzOdI
22. I recently sold a bass to ToolOfIgnorance. The deal was very swift, payment was made quickly and communication was fast all the way. It was a good transaction between two bass players who share a liking in Ibanez six string SRs. Deal with him with confidence!
23. Hey folks, I play bass in Chemical Wedding, a Hungarian tribute band that plays songs off from Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson's solo records, mosty Accident of Birth and Chemical Wedding, but also from the others as well. We recently made a couple of videos at our Budapest gig that I think I'd share here, too. Please note that English is not our native language so be gentle about our singer's accent :-) My gear used here was: Ibanez SR3006, EBS Multicomp, EBS BS Drive and EBS Gorm 410 Let me know what you think! 24. Withdrawn for the time being.
