1. You have mail Oh and that's one beautiful looking bass btw
2. Yes and it was a brilliant deal and a superb bass I sold it to a guy called Colin who deals on eBay as 'Sound me out'. It's interesting to see different opinions in here.
3.
I never felt the neck dive mentioned above
The real issue for me was how far the neck extended left away from my body(I'm right handed). I'm actually remembering the detail from over a year ago, maybe two so I could actually be wrong about the neck dive (I'm getting on and my memories not what it used to be ). The difficulty I had was that in fretting that far away from my body, my elbow was almost straight and that effected my wrist. I'm 5' 10" so no shorty either.
4. This post may be seen as controversial but it's not meant that way, just honest and open. I see Kingbasses moving around and quite often BCers are placing a wanted ad for them. I do wonder if they have actually had a go on one? I had a 5er and basically couldn't play it. I bought it without trying it (I know) and it was brilliantly made etc and a good deal but, the small body meant that the sharp end of the neck was too far away and it had neck dive too, like an Epi Thunderbird on Steroids (the neck being to the left and the imbalence). The guy I sold it to, a more experienced bassist than myself who was 'mad for it' (yes he did try it as I delivered it) sold it on two weeks later for the same reasons I parted with it. Is it just me? Or perhaps we're not meant to share these things for fear of upsetting someone? This isn't meant to diss Status or put people off Kingbasses but just to highlight the fact that I believe you need to try before you buy. I mean they do suit some people and MK himself isn't particularly tall/long armed etc. A great sound, well made and beautiful too but certainly not for me. Peter
5. Yep, me too. Thanks for the link
6. I've got a couple of TRBs at the moment and have no problems but, at the risk of being bleedin' cheeky, you are putting each winding on the post UNDER the 1st and not over it aren't you? Peter
7. Another option if you want a passive bass with an increased signal is Villex Pickups and tone boosters. Microbass II are great too. My Villex modified Bob Glaub competes with all my active basses.
8. They certainly come up on eBay fairly frequently. Other options are Allparts (UK) or WD Music
9. I just wondered if mine had gone to another BCer.
10. I sold one on eBay, did you perchance buy it?
11. Alan (Skelf) certainly is your man for SIT strings. He wouldn't sell them if he didn't rate them highly.
12. Did they drop it, or throw it?
13. If you can find him there's Les Evans. He builds basses very well and I suspect would be a good man to try. Does anyone have contact details for Les?
14. +1 on something different to Badass. Gotoh 201 or Hipshot.
15. I'd rate the BG strap and the original Comfort Strapp on a par Alan so you may have a Strap.
16.
Where do you draw the line after that ?
With respect Matt, 'Blatently selling ropey gear' was your expression not mine, I just suggested that this was possibly the case here. Peter
17.
blatantly selling ropey gear
It appears that this may be the case here? We need pictures
18. I received this bass from John today. Many many years ago this was the bass that I lusted after for a long time, in this colour too most definately. I now have a really spanky NEW BB1500A. It was packed better than any bass I've ever bought too so my feedback to John is 'Bloody brilliant' It will seem a shame to remove the plastic film but it's got to be done, now where's that Schaller-less strap gone?
19. I've got my Sterling with Nordy back into my desperate clutches and I'm not letting it go again. Bump

Great humour in this thread, I'd congratulate you all but you'd never find out
21. From the experience you relate I think this deserves a name and shame thread here. Sad to see and is there no way you can go back via Paypal again for goods not as described? A pretty sh*tty bit of behaviour it seems. Peter
22.
Looks like a proper one - shame the divot selling it does not know how to string it.
I've bought 3 BCs and they've all been strung incorrectly I presently have two very nice SB320s and if anyone is looking for one pm me as I only need one. I'm looking for £190 plus P&P which is what I paid for it before I set it up and fited new strings. Peter
23. Well they do 3/8" and 1/2" and I assumed that the 1/2" are standard fitment. http://www.hipshotproducts.com/cart.php?m=...etail&p=111 They may well be unobtainium though.
24. Interesting thread as I ordered a Korina rear routed 54 P bass body yesterday with a birdseye maple jazz neck/fingerboard and routed for a P pup in the traditional position. Ordering over the phone was painless and they are very helpful. 4 to 6 weeks til it's ready. Time to decide what goes in/on it. So far I'm inclined towards the new ACG Pre amp with volume and two filter stacks, and a Wizard Thumper PUP. Possibly Hipshot Ultralites but 1/2" ones for standard size holes and what bridge to use is still under consideration. I intend using Danish oil on the body and the gun oil treatment on the neck. I also intend to do a good copper foil shielding job on the cavities. So phone them as ordering on the website isn't really an options as there's too many variables. I'l update.
25. I tighten mine gently with a cycle 'cone' spanner, perfect for the job if you have one handy. Just nip them up a little more than finger tight so they don't vibrate loose.
