Regarding charity gigs... I take it you play covers? On the originals circuit, quite often we come across promoters who advertise it has a charity gig, "So no pay tonight lads". It's not a charity gig, it's a we don't want to pay the bands gig so my band skip every single one of these.

Still using the Beta MKII every rehearsal. I tend to prefer the Beta for my Jazz bass and Spark Booster for my Precision. Really liking the vintage tones and low end retention of the Beta. Works well with my Blower Box.
