  1. I have two basses which cover all eventualities. A P with flats and a J with rounds. The J was my only bass for the last couple of years. The P was going to be a reserve but is now on equal footing. Who else is done?
  2. I highly recommend the Neotech Mega. https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Neotech-Mega-Bass-Guitar-Strap-Regular-Black/23VG?origin=product-ads&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3ZPs6YCPgwMVDTgGAB26uASVEAQYASABEgK_AvD_BwE I've used one for over five years with no issues. Better made than the Comfort Strapp and does not slide like the Mono GS1.
  3. Great pickups and highly regarded back in the day. RIP.

    Don't worry, that's European humour...
  5. Gibson Grabber makes me think of early Green Day.
  6. That sunburst P looks amazing. Great spec.
  7. My ad is pretty straightforward: Bass guitarist looking for originals band. Open to most genres and styles. Plenty of experience live and in the studio. Please, no busybodies who believe they are experts in all areas of life.
  8. For reference, I have no interest in playing technical blackened death metal on a Wednesday night at the Dog and Muck in Kidderminster. Most of the ads on JMB just seem to be that way. EDIT: Also, I will never join a band just to play music. It has to be something/good enough that makes me want to attend rehearsal.
  9. Jam nights are normally filled with singer/songwriters who want a backing band which is not something I'm interested in. That or has the blues/skiffle guitarists who can jam, for sure, but cannot learn songs, attend regular rehearsal, etc etc. JMB is getting more and more difficult to find genuine musicians. The amount of messages that go unanswered, those who can't attend regular rehearsal, more interest in the name of the band than the actual music. Nobody wants to play technical blackened death metal on a Wednesday night at the Dog and Muck in Kidderminster. For free...
  10. Why is putting a Fender decal on a bass a) so common and b) allowed in the first place? Wearing a watch with a dial replacement to read 'Rolex' gets you laughed out the building. Would be interested to know why players do it.
  11. Where is your backup bass?! @hiram.k.hackenbacker
  12. Yoga. You should try it.
  13. They sit right in between La Bella/GHS Precision flats and Chromes.
  14. Using Dunlop Flats. Excellent flats that have their own unique sound.
  15. I've heard the Boss Metal Zone with a Line 6 Spider is an awesome combination used by countless professionals.
  16. Don't record your part and then clear off down the pub!
  17. Active basses. They sound inherently scooped. IMO
  18. I fully recommend Dunlop Flatwounds. Great all purpose flat with exceptional playability.
  19. Does anyone know of a drop in replacement pickguard for the Precision basses? Fancy changing the gold anodized guard for a more traditional version.
