  1. I'll stick to my OHSC as it suits.
  2. Should have stuck with whiskey. The pint has put you crook as the edited version is still the same answer to the same different question!
  3. That would be the answer to a different question.
  4. My old Trace 1518 came with advice in the manual for the through grill tuning ports. ''Goes lower, but not as loud, with ports plugged''.
  5. If FOH haven't EQ'd the PA for the room that's for them to fix first. My bass sound is sparingly EQ'd with some preamp flavour. If it's all boomy in the room it's because they haven't EQ'd the fine PA.
  6. Usually it depends on the amp's preamp. Master 'output' being an attenuator only, cranking up on the preamp gains blasts on through the master.
  7. Because you only trust your precious to its OHSC.
  8. In that case you want a preamp and a FRFR rig and tell him to listen to the DI before passing judgement.
  9. Publishers do it on behalf of artists en masse via the venue licence schemes. It's very much worth their while.
  10. Home made leads. Soldering good enough for leads can be learned in a few minutes.
  11. Used Yamaha BB series basses go for peanuts.
  12. No. With a tiny amp a 4ohm one will get a little louder than the 8 ohm version. Also, good amp ratings are for clean power. Most will do bursts that will take out a cab if you let them.
  13. There's an awful lot more to it than that but, yeah. If you turn it up and it doesn't hardly get any louder the best thing to do is turn it back down a tad and accept that is your lot. Choosing a 4 ohm cab ''to get all the power out of the amp'' is often non optimal. It may pay to investigate further before you blow up a cab that is too small for you.
  14. Only if the German legal system is that way inclined, which doesn't feel very likely to me.
  15. Even if team Clapton did file straight to the lady's local court for damages she still could have written to thc court saying she destroyed the CD and considered the matter closed. I doubt there would have been any costs awarded. Fruit cakes on both sides if you ask me but she's the appellant in the second case so she's got nuts on hers.
  16. Probably Mark King after one of his roadies left one of his amps behind.
  17. Apparently it's a thing to be Whamminated. To be Whamminated you have to hear a Wham Christmas song two times. Last one standing wins Whamaggedon.
  18. The way it's going you'd have to hold your breath while doing the gig.
  19. I must be a little bit lysdexic this afternoon.
  20. Not just handed a RH guitar upside down. It has the strings 'upside down' ie strung for lefty.
  21. Who is rockin' Rudolf? Someone didn't just photoshop in a RH guitar for their lefty. They gave it to him strung up lefty. How considerate!
  22. It's call Floating Thumb when your thumb sits aside the strings. Nothing wrong about it except yours isn't going too well. My own muting involves a lot of subconscious third finger action.
  23. There is short and then there's uke bass short. Between the flyweight uke body and the low tension rubber strings you should try one if you haven't already.
  24. Feedback was an issue for me so I made a sound hole cover. I don't get all the whining about the rubber strings. Different, but controllable ime. To stabilize tuning quicker you can pick up the string off the nut. The D string tends to stretch out and overflow the peg if you aren't keeping an eye on it. Some numpties have managed to break the tuner when the windings bound up on the body! Take off and restring with minimal windings. With the G string, it doesn't want to tension up and keeps slipping through. By winding first over the tail then continuing under you get some bite on the tail to get tension on.
  25. I don't know BACS from a ham sandwich but the shipping side of things seems entirely remote from you. He is shipping his bass from you to himself in HK. His problem to deal with HK Customs.
