  1. You're not wrong. I stuck a set in my Squier CV and they sound superb.
  2. Apparently they corrode over time and cause sound issues. Bridging it with a patch cable prevents this so regardless, you've done the right thing by bridging it. Damn you ... I'm so tempted by this!
  3. Really surprised this is still here and if I had the cash, I'd be all over this. I have the later 1000rb and it's a monster amp. I've heard great things about the 400 and 800RB heads, especially for recording. Just touching on the effects loop thing ... if you do find you have sound issues (severe crackling, loss of sound or intermittent sound) a good fix I've found (did it on a 5150 guitar head) was to spray contact cleaner down the send and return jacks and put a jack lead in and out a few times to spread the cleaner (also worth doing the inputs too). Fixed mine up like new.
  4. Me too. Had to make do with a Westone Thunder I-A. This particular bass dates back to 1983, just before the logo was changed to the eagle type.
  5. Sell them separately dude ... you'll get shot of them in no time.
  6. What's the DiMarzio pickup on this bass ?
  7. That Alembic looks gorgeous mate. I do like black and gold on a guitar.
  8. It looks like a rebadged Chinese copy of an SM57. Not sure if the Thomman T-bone MB-75 is the same but that mic gets great reviews and there's plenty of comparison reviews on eBay.
  9. OOohhhh! I've played this and can confirm it's a great bass, punching way above it's weight and for the price this is an absolute steal.
  10. I remember I had a Boss Octaver pedal in the late 80s and it also had problems with low notes - it'd freak out on a low E note, like my missus trying to make her mind up whether to stay in or go out.
  11. Not eBay but Reverb. I remember when the guitar version came out in the 80s and I just didn't get it. Anybody got/had one ? Also, what's a midi pickup when it's at home? https://reverb.com/uk/item/51512512-roland-gr77?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=1726164661&utm_content=campaignid=1726164661_adgroupid=70264195649_productpartitionid=1651608931582=merchantid=218269047_productid=51512512_keyword=_device=c_adposition=_matchtype=_creative=391637461803&gclid=CjwKCAjw4ayUBhA4EiwATWyBrgD3SGPGHPr7oa3SVahYmTw62CWC7d7EGZTO-2wMoV-mCqjzrvpFWxoC2VQQAvD_BwE
  12. The bottom line is if they can't provide a demonstrable linear graph to show the difference between their cables and others then they can be 'effed off without a second thought. Anything presented without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. Same goes for valves and "tonewood" (in electric instruments) - another huge scam.
  13. As long as you get a reasonably good quality cable, that'd be fine. The whole super-expensive cable thing is just a massive con, just like tone wood and valves/tube making a difference to your sound.
  14. That is so true. I walked into a studio yesterday which smelt of exactly what you mention there, coupled with damp basement smells and stale alcohol (usually from split beer from punters). That to me just conjures up images of loud music and hard work. Love it !
  15. Absolute steal for a Levinson Blade here. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304443025498?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D238393%26meid%3Dd8a036710229466a94aa5f9d904f246f%26pid%3D101195%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D294935567447%26itm%3D304443025498%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSimplAMLv9PairwiseWebMskuAspectsV202110NoVariantSeed%26brand%3DBlade&_trksid=p2047675.c101195.m1851&amdata=cksum%3A304443025498d8a036710229466a94aa5f9d904f246f|enc%3AAQAGAAABIIIp3bTCXFAKw6S9crk9CpCrrtOgadqFiC10NVPbN0936eprYVB4SXfDa52e1mbPLMLOB%2FDYA2MKpCp44nXy9XT4cwCGeZuKUkOX9z9HdyR9gGSnJYzhLiNzK4MwBn1iXOWg0FgVvOlRLTRg6EJM7W15FO%2BRsecyjTBo6pyOpOKfIFrHO5bzo%2F3I3LKCE%2BW4HYwBitaYkuL4opY7RrwpBwmqJkuXd4T9lHc%2Fz7eacnom6MjJB8D3LPplO8iNDICG5KiZ%2BfrtTownStKpyA5LkXXNDZzPq%2BWPEs3%2BgVAe2uzXdf%2FlaYr6QHrRw5wotTDpKyXtOaw4BKAAw84QWYTFosYrEUieCFLeCNIWzjSyDpCPbmPAzrJ1HvRK730ip0Mbxg%3D%3D|ampid%3APLX_CLK|clp%3A2047675
  16. Any photos of the back and what is the weight please (of the bass LOL!).
  17. Love it mate. I bet that sounds immense.
  18. Isn't this an "Eagle" model BC Rich ? It has the same shape and identical electronics.
  19. Dude ... is that your hand in the left hand corner? Jesus! how tall are you?? !!
  20. It was on the High Road if memory serves me correctly *EDIT* .... it was 396-398 High Road, Leytonstone. I remember back in the 80s a mate of mine part exchanged an old Slingerland drum kit which was knackered and beaten for pennies for a brand new Pearl Export kit. Two weeks later I went back and they'd refurbished the Slingerland and was selling it for around a grand. I told him and he didn't believe me until he saw it for himself. I did detect a tear or two in his eyes when he saw it.
  21. I had the head version of this which I used with a H|H 2x18. It was absolutely monstrous. Funny you mention Holiday Music (which was in Leytonstone as far as I can remember). I bought my Bass Baby and 2x18 from Allan Gordon's in Walthamstow. That would have been around 1988. GLWTS
