  1. ...but that isn't your bass. Your bass doesn't have the matching cover plate, tuners, illuminated markers etc. Your bass is a nice Streamer Stage II but not a custom shop.
  2. What features make this a custom shop? You might want to edit as the tuners aren't wenge.
  3. Do you still have the original pups?
  4. Unusual colour.
  5. I am genuinely interested but can you photograph the bridge as I think you may be referring to the grub screws that alter the saddle height rather than intonation. Unless a Modulus owner can help as I can't find anything on-line?
  6. Yes it was intonation not relief I was looking at and asking about. I've owned graphite neck basses with no truss rod so I understand that the necks rarely shift but sting gauge changes will need intonation adjustments.
  7. Might sound daft/obvious but how do you set the intonation? It doesn't look like there is a adjuster bolt; do you slide them forward back and then string tension holds the string in place?
  8. Wasn't this for sale on Basschat?
  9. Actually, I've just realised the format is a scam I've seen a few times before. You can safely BID away on this (don't give your details or pay) as you'll not win and you'll get a message off ebay saying this is an unsafe transaction.
  10. If the bass is set up as you want it and nut is defo low, you can put a drop of superglue in the slot and build the slot back up (though you may then need to file back down to suit BUT ensure it is solid dry before doing anything. If it is a good/expensive bass or one you rely on as your gigging tool, I'd be looking at a new nut.
  11. Is the body physically the exact same size as a 4 or is it slightly wider to keep ratio?
  12. So many different models you need to be aware of and all different values but you are right to point out active v passive (some folks might prefer passive but they originally sold a lot cheaper) and the body woods do affect tone to a degree but it's mainly preference. Oh and be wary of Bubinga basses that are actually stained Ash misadvertised!
  13. That kind of money is on the verge of thru-neck German made Warwick basses, overpriced Corvette imho!
  14. I was it this gig stood straight in front of Tom!
  15. I have to say that 2 local (professional) luthiers close to me both refused to refinish a Warwick that I had (SSI waxed) as there was no guarantee you could leech all of the oil/wax out and if you didn't then it could react badly with the paint causing flaking etc. If you are prepared to sand/strip back several mm of wood from the front and back it may work but they indicated that the wax/oil if applied regularly penetrates quite deep, especially on an old bass. One final question is your bass a wax finish from new or possibly one of the coated ones which some people mistakenly wax? Good luck either way.
  16. You'd expect to find change from £200 if you bought the hardware and electronics 2nd hand.
  17. Always wanted to try one of these but I'm guessing you are in Europe rather than the UK (which I'm aware is presently still in Europe).
  18. Wonder if they'll be putting the USA Sterling on the same diet? I've been after a light-weight Sterling for years and they never quite dip in much below 9lb... now if they shave 1lb off the 9lb I'd be interested!
  19. Silly money but great basses! This bass is a Japanese made with quality German parts; the necks are a delight.
  20. In comparison to a brand new Streamer it is almost the same though CNC manufacturing and hidden fret technology etc make for a more consistent bass. New Streamers will have 3 band EQ but really it is the same bass... just much cheaper if it is old/used! Comparing it to other new and similar priced basses is pretty pointless as you are comparing apples and oranges!
  21. Early Warwicks sometimes do but they are well sorted by the time this bass was made... unless like 'any' bass, someone has buggered about with it.
  22. He knows what he is selling as he is even stating it is a bargain... rings alarm bells but he could be deparate for a quick sale!
