Yes this bass has been on here a couple of times and I got it back via a trade with Chris2112. It was intended to stay with me a bit longer as I do love it (hence trading to get it back) but I have managed to find myself another Bolin so something has to give to pay for that! No marks or dings to speak of (one tiny chip on the headstock but it is small), the Swamp Ash back has no worming and the only thing of note is that a previous owner has opened up the back of one of the Schaller style machineheads to tighten the screw and the metal insert/cover has a couple nibbles around the outside; note this is again small and only on the cover of the back of one of the machineheads. Can't/Won't try and expand on how the bass sounds as it is too subjective but for a graphite necked bass (no need to worry about truss rods or necks warping with this) it has the most organic sound of any graphite bass that I have owned. £1300 Complete with Zon case, Hiscox case or Tribal Planet semi case/gigbag (your choice of one). I can take a part-ex but it would need to be lightweight and a wedge of cash my way.

Phew glad it isn't just me!

Just been for an audition for a dep job in a local pub/club rock band. Went well prepared (i.e. learnt [with the aid of my own hand written notes] all 24 songs that the band do rather than 'just a few' that they recommended I learn) and I took spare bass, amp, cab etc. turned out I didn't need them as we'd be plugging into a mixer/cab and the drummer had electronic kit through the mixer... no problem. However, one of the guitarists wouldn't be able to make it... and after the drummer received a brief phone call it turned out neither was the other one! So a strange audition with just me the drummer and the singer. Anybody else had a similar experience?
Paypal didn't charge you at all? They only charge if you are in receipt - is that right?
I always get this wrong so I'd check with paypal but effectively someone somewhere within the transaction will be paying to use the paypal service.

It is a bit of a minefield because there isn't a universal exchange rate and some banks charge a set fee for exchange and/or a percentage. I had a 'mare a few years back when I sold a bass to a guy in Canada because we agreed on a price in £ sterling which he then converted (using an agreed conversion rate) to $ and paid me through paypal (splitting the paypal fees). We hadn't accounted for the fact that paypal absolutely extracted the urine with their conversion rate (which wasn't easy to establish at the time) and ended up having to renegotiate the price because he had set an upper limited in $ based upon the conversion rates that we had been using on-line. All sorted in the end but a pita to get right.

MarloweDK to get his own signature model.

Worn, beat-up... this can be natural wear and tear over the years but generally if a bass has been "relic'd" it has been done unnaturally i.e. with sticks/stones and a belt/orbital sander. Some can look nice but you can go OTT and they look pants! -

Finally got round to joining a decent forum!

I only ask if anyone has contact/knowledge of Jake as I have bought an expensive item from Jake which is not 'as described'! I've tried phoning, PMing and emailing him to no avail but would like to give him the chance to respond before I go further. -

Excellent coverage... and the music IS good!

As above + to get the best from your intended set-up you are going to need a pair of 4ohm cabs as opposed to the more common 8ohm.

Despite some of the sickly 'sweet' singles they were actually a great ROCK band! Listen to some of the album stuff and it's worlds apart from what you'd expect; try 'Someone Else Will' just don't play it when Granny or the kids are around.

Does your Sterling not have straplocks already installed? Straplocks come in various guises and the ones on my Sterling are the type that 'look' like a conventional pin (and you can use a strap on them) but they have a hollow shaft for the pin style Schaller strap button. re. the EQ - start flat on your bass by all means but there is nothing wrong with setting the bass anyway you like and then modifying the amp; there is no rule book that says you can't do it how you like (my Sterling sounds great with the bass and treble up full and the mid set flat... almost like a built in mid scoop/slap tone [though I don't slap ])

I bought a 10m DMX cable from this ebayer @ £10.21 inc delivery; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370395564666?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_1026wt_1163 They arrived promptly and are marked on the cable sleeve as 'DMX' cable.

I just bought a DMX cable from this guy and @ £10 for 10m inc delivery that's cheap enough I reckon (it is printed on the rubber cable that it is DMX and not just a mic cable).
I would like to know if a 300 Watt 8 ohm head would struggle to get a decent volume out of a 500 Watt 8 ohm cab? Only need it be loud enough for a 5 piece band practice and small/medium size gigs. I know under-powering is ok as long as you don't push the output to the point of saturation, just wanted to make sure that this would be loud enough for what I want, and not pushing both amp and cab to their limits. Cheers, Adam
What is the make of cab and what drivers does it have (1x15, 2x12, 4x10 etc) and tbh Adam, the most important bit of info is missing... the sensitivity of the cab! Essentially you'd be able to get about 200-250 watts out of the amp but that is just maths figures it doesn't tell you/us how loud your guitarists/drummer play and what PA support you have. More info needed and then most folks would still probably say "Give it a go and see".
