  1. I saw them in Luton pre-lockdown... in a big theatre and an audience of 20 or 30 people. I felt embarrassed that so few people were there, but they still put on a great show. Worth a look to anyone near Norwich!
  2. Inspiration: The pic got me thinking about swimming with dolphins and generally drifting around, which gave me the feel for the song. I was recently loaned a beautiful mid-70’s Gibson Thunderbird acoustic guitar by my aunt, which belonged to my late uncle who passed last year. She wants it to be played. So it’s included here and contributed to the feel. Technical stuff: Daw: Studio One. Drums: studio one piano roll with “Red Zep” drum samples. Bass: Vantage avenger. Acoustic Gtr: Gibson Thunderbird (family heirloom on loan to me)., Electric Gtr : Vox Standard 25. Vox : Sure SM58
  3. But at least you got Yungblud to stand behind your daughter while you took the selfie!
  4. This may vary from person to person. Definitely not one listen for me I'm afraid, and I do invest hours for covers. If there's a method I'm all ears!
  5. Not exactly 'aging', but there is an effect that changes the perception of old music that cannot easily be avoided. Take "Tomorrow Never Knows" for example. When I first heard it I thought it was brilliant. But I'd already heard a lot of later music that followed on from it. So I could not appreciate how much better TKN it would have sounded had I heard it first. In this vein people say something like "you can't imagine how Elvis sounded the first time we heard it"
  6. What instrument are this group using ? Wouldn’t mind getting one!
  7. Meanwhile you can get some good tips from basschat. Even the jokes thread:
  8. I consider myself to be in the same boat. Would love to up my game in production - so watching with interest.
  9. PJ still works with Rob Ellis so I’d guess Steve.

  11. No worries we can’t see (or remember) every post👍
  12. I posted this clip a while back and got a lot of comments which disagreed with his take on time signatures. And a few who didn’t like his hat.
  13. No good deed goes unpunished.
  14. Beergut 100 (not mine, was an actual band back in the day)
  15. They had probably heard about this:
  16. This may belong in the “Good bass for punk” thread👍
  17. Nag Nag Nag recorded in 1974 or something IIRC???
  18. Malibu Hangover
  19. I’m only referring to the food additives 😉😉
  20. OK, “The 8 E’s” then.
  21. To be honest I f don’t know what width my bass is or if I’d notice a small change.
