I'm hoping they were just proving some kind of point about artificial divides and factions. I guess they hoped no-none would go along with it.

I don’t have that set up but in your position I’d do similar to some above - put the bass eq flat and get the tone you want from the amp. Then adjust the bass eq if you need something different for a particular song.
