  1. That would make a good phrase to have under your user avatar or something 😉!
  2. .....? I guess he was waiting for you to start a thread on Songs you always wanted to play but never did... which you did pretty sharpish to be fair. In fact it’s already on page 2🙁.
  3. You’re only , like, in until you’re out, maan!
  4. I have as actually got a few from this year, although I discover from the the past too. Going with my gut I’m going for Amyl and The Sniffers - Comfort To Me:
  5. The fact that they run adverts on TV to say they are a good employer says a lot.
  6. I think my current settings are: settings -> auto lock -> 5 milli-seconds before I'm about to start using the PC again 😃
  7. Without knowing any specialist apps, I'd probably go Excel too. One song per tab.... it easy to drag the tabs into the right order for each gig. But as someone said, maybe good old paper in a folder could work.
  8. I was really lucky with my punk/new-wave covers band as they generally were up for loads of stuff I wanted to do. Often it wasn't even me who suggested it - one of the others would say how about X and I'd be thinking wow I've always wanted to do that! I'd play it cool of course... yeah, I suppose we could squeeze that into the set 😉! But we ceased trading after lockdown, so I'll take this spin on the question... here are three songs I had a big ambition to do, we had gotten gig-ready, but never played to an audience: Another Girl, Another Planet - The Only Ones Goo-Goo Muck - The Cramps Spanish Stroll - Mink DeVille Had a blast doing them in rehearsal though!
  9. Wouldn’t mind hearing one of ERR mellow ones…. Could you post one here?
  10. This is tune is catching my ears this week- Little Simz , Point and Kill. Music starts about 45 seconds in.
  11. Elvis and the Wailers
  12. Could it be as simple as a boost pedal activated for those sections?
  13. I Can’t Get Blue Monday Out Of My Head is a pretty well known (and good) example:
  14. The bloke who used to run my local folk session used to explain harmony: Sing different notes to the lead vocal. If no-one starts looking at you, you're in harmony.
  15. The Nightingales in Bedford with Pete Astor as support - on Sunday 7th. Due to re-arranged dates I'm double booked that night - So there's a ticket going spare for Chubby and the Gang at StAlbans Horn if anyone's interested in a freebie. update: Just seen that Chubby and the Gang has been cancelled, so no spare ticket. On the plus side I’ll get a refund or maybe a rescheduled date 😃
  16. Actually I think the OP got it right. an open G shape will become an A. A barred G will still be a G. That is what it makes it hard to convert on the fly just by looking - in my experience also.
  17. I think when name bands get a replacement for an established member there should be an understanding that the new guy may need to stand down if the original person wants to return. Recently happened with RHCP if i remember correctly.
  18. @MoJo out of interest, where will these decals be applied? A bass???
  19. Well done @upside downer nice work! Was a great set of tunes, very hard to make a selection of 3.
  20. Not sure, never tried it..... can't find any blurb in the box either.
  21. Some even considered it a demotion would you believe?
  22. Keith Levene used an aluminum guitar in PiI
  23. I forgot to mention that the Xvive has four channels, so four people in the band can use a pair. Enough for most, but a constraint for a few bands I guess.
  24. It’s similar to a lot of modern art in that there is nothing particularly interesting unless you know the back story. And even then maybe not 😐.
  25. I can’t compare with any others, but I use Xvive XU2 with no issues. The main plus point for me was that both the transmitter and receiver are rechargeable so no faff with batteries or mains leads. Get enough on one charge for a couple of rehearsals or gigs.
