I have same situation... allen key too long. I tried googling around but the short arm ones are really pricy and might be too short. I tried a hacksaw... but it did not even make mark on the key. May have been a blunt blade... based on your comment I'll try again with a fresh blade.

I had only ever heard of MacGyver via the Simpsons....Marge's sisters often used to watch or refer to it. I'd assumed it was a fictional show, like Itchy and Scratchy. But seems it's real!
  4. I had ticket to one gig… rescheduled due to covid but the new date was while I was on holiday. Annoying for me and the band, but not surprising.
  5. A rechargeable pedalboard with built in wireless - not a bad idea for a product……
  6. Are you saying that this pedalboard has wireless receiver built in?
  7. Hope so, then people might stop saying it.
  8. aha, gotcha: I'd recently copywrited the bass and treble clefs 😈
  9. Thanks - I didn't realise that... but it fits with my experience: seems like only the last few years that I heard the phrase - not as many as 14 or whatever years ago
  10. I reckon it could work well on multi-band ska bill where the punters would want each band to have their own take on the genre.
  11. Had a listen. You certainly don’t take yourselves seriously, but take the quality of the music seriously. Sounds a bit ska, but I don’t hear jazz as some others have. The nearest genre I can think of is what Madness used to call themselves: The Nutty Sound. Sorry that may not be something you can use.
  12. From the title I thought it’s was going to an “are we Bassists or Bass players “ thread with answers like “hey I’m actually a musician who plays bass” and stuff. But compartmentalising someone into a genre sounds like a lot more fun…. I’ll take a listen and give it a try👍
  13. The worst thing about the whole thing is that “haters gonna hate” is an established phrase in the first place.
  14. I’m biased but will say Totally Wired by The Fall. I think the ghost notes work particularly well with a pick - but all their bass lines are pick driven.
  15. Got reacquainted with that song recently…… my new band covers it👍. RIP Mensie.
  16. I use Xvive2…. Similar to Lozz example it’s two rechargeable bugs so no mains leads involved and no pack to wear. Sound wise I think it’s better than a lead, less effect on the sound.
  17. What a tragic story 🙁. His sister, singer Candy McKenzie, survived the incident and went on to record with (amongst others) Lee Perry
  18. I think any review of a U-bass should talk about the strings. Are they the rubbery ones or something more like a regular bass? So the second vid is more informative than the what-does-it-sound-like first vid. But sounds tempting!
  19. Well, looks like someone has been reading this thread and actually implemented something from our armchair inventions:
  20. Yeah, not sure if it qualifies but I’m defiantly interested to hear the nyckrlharpa so will take a listen in either case. However I never listen until all entries are in!
  21. To go back on topic a little bit....... what particular item(s) would we propose for inclusion? I'll go for an obvious one... the remains of Paul Simenon's bass from the "London Calling" cover.
  22. Not really sure that is how originals band is defined…. Just means no-one did those songs before, not that each member developed their own parts. For example The Undertones were an originals band, but the singer sang the melody and words written by the songwriter - mainly the guitarist, sometimes one of the others, never the singer. Even if the rest of the band write the bass lines note for note it’s still an originals band. Agree it’s not a good situation though.
  23. I can imagine that if it did exist now it would be as an afterthought side room of a National Guitar Museum 🙄.
  24. All the way into 2021?
  25. This just came up on my FB feed. I reckon that pretty much settles it folk.
