I’ll go for John French, aka Drumbo of Captain Beefheart’s Magic Band. Fantastic drummer and seems like he can play most other instruments too. And sing. Not sure we what I’d bring to the party though!

The new Low album (from which this is taken I think) is album of the day on 6music today. Interesting new sound from Low methinks, based on the couple heard so far. Good that they are not stuck in a rut even after all these years.

I think of rap as just the vocal style, and hip hop covers the instrumental music and other cultural elements. and yes not all rap is hip hop. For example you could think of Johnny Rotten as rapping, but not the Pistols as hip hop.

I can’t stand that either. But as you found out there I’d loads of rap not like that.
