I think the US don't have an on/off switch on their sockets either. I remember some US visitors being bemused by the UK sockets with the funny little pointless switches.

Not so sure…. Judging by some of the girls in the playground who could play a large repertoire, but in a shrill kind of way.

Those bass recorders are really expensive though 😕

I think at school we were just taught to get the 'right' notes out of the recorder with no thought to tone and listenability. Mind you, I couldn't even do that!

Fretting arm or picking arm?

I very dislike his music, but respect his line of self-depricating humour.

I'm thinking that it could be a simple quarter note I-V bass pattern, which speeds up according to the vehicle speed. It would certainly make them less attractive to ride.

Objective of learning guitar fulfilled?

So the electric scooters are going for hi-hat and tuba for the on-board sound. How can bass guitar get in on the electric vehicle sound malarkey?

I don’t do much of my own… although I have built a couple of cigar box guitars. The action on my bass needs lowering since a string change a couple of months ago and I vowed to do it myself. But I got the Allen key out of my tool kit and it is too long to fit in the recess. Never got round to getting a new key and not even sure what to google to get one. Must get into gear!

I still have the same preferred tone in bass as when I started out, influenced by punk and post-punk. But now I have much wider taste in music so there's more chance I could play something which needed a different tone which I would do. Well try anyway.

And that no one in the audience cares anyway. Or the rest of the band.

I remember setting up my first audio interface many years ago. I ended up ringing the Helpdesk because it didn’t work. We tried loads of before I casually mentioned the USB extension cable I was using. I could almost hear the support guy’s eyes rolling ….. moved the box nearer to pc , no extension cable - worked fine. Lesson learned.
