  1. I had this a bit with my Betsy bass last year, which I ordered early July. Spoke to The Bass Centre quite a bit and they had the delivery date from Korea and it was looking like a delivery in late July/early August. Eventually turned up in early November, in this case beyond their control as they couldn't get the EMG pick-ups due to EMG shutting down due to COVID. Was slightly more annoying as I was the 11th order and they had pick-ups for the 1st 10 in July....... But Barry kept me upto date and even offered my money back until the EMG's turned up.
  2. Nor me, I only found out about Bingo Hand Job when the live concert was released on vinyl on Record Store Day in 2019
  3. For the Runrig fans on here, BBC Alba have a number of programs over the weekend. Friday night there is Air an Oir (50mins) - 9pm Saturday night they are showing The Last Dance, all 3 hours as opposed to the shortened version that was on Sky Arts - 8pm Sunday Night they are showing City of Lights (55mins) - 9pm
  4. Picked up a new strap and strap locks from them last week on click and collect. Good, quick communication and as their website can't deal with click & collect after ordering the P&P refund came through almost immediately.
  5. Was a real shame, was a fan at the time, Karl is re-releasing all the back catalogue on vinyl currently, Bang was the 2nd release, came out on Friday.
  6. The re-release on vinyl of the World Party. album Bang!
  7. Picked up a Rocket 3" from them today, only tried it for a short time but feels comfortable from the off. Very nicely made as well.
  8. It took me a few days to decide. Was expecting trouble from the other half when it arrived but the colour won her over as well.
  9. Been looking for a nice Stingray for a while but was unsure which colour to go for. As a Runrig fan I noticed Rory MacDonald plays a Translucent Teal one so have been looking for one in that colour as it looks great. Finally found one this week in great condition and had it delivered today. Got it from Classic & Cool Guitars, great service. And it looks as good as I was expecting. Pain to photograph to show the actual colour though.
  10. Be careful with that, they could mark it as delivery made and just keep it.....
  11. If worried about security, I know it’s not the prettiest and not sure how much space you have, but I have one of these bolted down in my garage to store some expensive mountain bikes. https://www.asgardsss.co.uk/bike-storage-x4
  12. My very wide range of listening tastes: The Jam - Dig the new breed Bauhaus - Press the eject and give me the tape Dire Straits - Alchemy Live Pink Floyd - Pulse Caro Emerald - Live in Birmingham (when attending you could buy the programme with a download code for the gig) Runrig - Transmitting Live (but probably been overtaken by the Last Dance recently) Barenaked Ladies - Rock Spectacle Green Day - Bullet In A Bible
  13. Never left a gig early but the closest I got was Roger Waters In the Flesh tour, Birmingham 2002. Was nothing special, slightly disappointing overall, but when he sat down to play cards at the front of the stage with some band members while the others continued playing in the background, it was perhaps a step too far.
  14. I can say 100% yes, as before lockdown I had never held a bass or any guitar since music class at school 35 years ago😃 A very different situation for me, as someone who has spent the last 25 years as an engineer/manager working mostly in a busy office to suddenly be working from home with almost no social interaction lockdown was tough. Projects we had were put on hold so we had a reduced workload in the team so I actually had time to do something new, and having something to learn has really helped me get through the Lockdowns. I blame Mark Gooday at Ashdown who I've known for a number of years, through nothing to do with music, as when they started their B-Stock sale I picked up a B-Social as a bluetooth player really, but then thought I could buy a cheap bass (Hofner Ignition cause that's what Paul McCartney has) to mess around and learn, had a few chats with Mark, signed up to Fender Play, and have really enjoyed it, I will never do anything other than play at home, and I'm not very good but things got out of hand. I now have the B-Social and Hofner, I've added a 210 & 115 cab, a Ashdown CTM-30 (also an cheap Ashdown Mag400 from ebay that is too loud for home😄), and a Harley Benton SBK and Bass Centre Betsy.
  15. Had a few weird delivery timings from a couple of carriers, all uk deliveries. After an issue with a delivery from the Netherlands that went missing for about 10 days. UPS in particular sent me texts to say it was delayed, it then arrived on the original timing, the app was still saying it was a day late. Also had a timing offset on one recently where I got the 1hr time slot, and then it turned up about 2hrs early, thankfully working from home meant it was okay
  16. Yes, it was a cut down 'highlights' version of the 3hr show you can buy on DVD, the 3hr DVD being an amalgamation of the 2 nights, although still 2 songs missing. I'm still gutted I couldn't attend the shows.
  17. I have virgin tv and can find it by searching for the program, the Runrig one for example is available until 1st march
  18. Probably not well known to many but they had the Runrig farewell concert on there last night, well worth a watch on catch-up.
  19. It's slow going both ways. I ordered a new fitbit, direct from fitbit UK, 4 days delivery, parcel comes from the Netherlands. Ordered 5th Jan, dispatched 6th Jan Left Parcel centre Utrecht 7th Jan. Then absolutely nothing until it suddenly arrived today with parcel force. All the tracking showed no update until last night (since checking the tracking after it arrived today).
  20. Is that the case. I genuinely don't know. I assumed the north is part of the UK so didn't have the tax issues of the EU. I wonder how that will work for some larger companies based in NI. One I've dealt with in the past is Chain Reaction Cycles, they send a lot of bike parts to the UK mainland.
