1.
The guitar amp modelling is decent, there's a midi hammond organ built-in and it even does auto-tune type stuff.
The keyboard samples are great - just hooked an electric piano up via a USB Midi lead and played a Fender Rhodes straight off!
2.
Neat, but can't help but think it would sound a lot better on a guitar.
+1
3. After fighting with Cubase on a PC, I'm loving using Garageband on the Mac. Any other fans out there?
4. Never really got on with Jazzes sadly, despite liking the shape and the sound. The neck is too thin for me and the offset body too clunky. But different strokes, different folks. Factoid: According to a book I read, the Jazz bass was designed in part to appeal to guitarists switching over to the new-fangled electric bass, hence the narrow nut.
5.
Even the LMII is a lot more now than when i got mine.
That'll be the €'s strength against the £.
6. Nice basses. In 20 years time, those reissue Yamaha BBs will be collectors items. People will scout Ebay (or whatever it's called then), searching for them! Mucho under-rated.

8. This thread has amused me because I actually know the groom in the OPs picture but never had a Scooby Doo he was John Deacon's son. Even though he has the same surname.
9. The Warwick cab's great. Great solution for someone who just wants one 4x10.
10. I prefer new stuff. Old Fenders feel like antiques!
11. I'm just nipping into the loft to see if there are any Alembics up there that I missed. Edit: back again. No joy, just a load of boxes, an old left-handed Hofner from the 60s that belonged to Paul, and a stairgate.
12. Cracking basses. I gig mine every other weekend. Big sound and light too.
13. Just bought dave.c's Aria GT4. For a bass that only costs around £200 new, it's amazing. Lovely glossy, grainy wood and binding. Lovely to play. Haven't used it in anger yet but at low volume at home it sounds like a beast. Really hot active sound. Stock pic below doesn't do them justice. Might take some porn shots with an SLR, if anyone's interested.
14. G&L L2000 Tribute. It's active but a flick of a switch and hey presto it's passive P or J bass! Should be able to get one s/h for around £350.
15.
sh*t
Is that a review?
16.
A 10K PA rig and a microphone - don't want to spend any longer than necessary there.
17. Talk to Ali at Sniff N Break in Farnham. He runs Logic and should be able to help you out. Tell him Matt from Wag The Dog sent you!
18.
I was the same, couldn't get on with the Prosteels at all. I now use cheapo Roberts Growlers off ebay for my stainless steel needs! P.
+1. I found them both rough to play and dirty looking. Switched to Hartke strings.
19.
After a couple of songs, it actually dawned on me that I couldn't hear the P bass at all despite having the amp/cab set up the way it normally is. Try as I might, it just wouldn't cut through to me.
If it's any consolation - I've never been able to get a P bass to cut through the mix either. And my hearing's ok!
20. Sad - but I'd actually take two of the things listed below. My G&L and the Trace head and cab. The bass is set up nicely and sounds great through the rig. Can I have the rest of a band too, so we can make music? And preferably a beach bar too, to gig in and cold beer, and....
21.
The original intent was to use it as a DI to a recording console, instead of mic'ing an amp.
That's a better explanation than mine!
22. I've had Aria envy ever since schooldays. Although I had my Westone Thunder, two of my mates had nice 80s Arias. Would love a nice old school SB but can't really justify it right now. Edit: Unless anyone's selling one cheap?
23.
Ahh so it's an effects box, of sorts meaning that you can play any amp set up and get teh same tonal results??
It's basically a pre-amp. Work well with passive basses making them hotter and richer sounding, not so good with active ones. If you've got an active bass, you've got a lot of what's in a SansAmp in your bass already.
