1. Defo agree with chris b on this! I use my bb2 with a puma 900 and it kicks arse! Can’t think of another single 12 neo thats got as much heft/ presence.great fun:-)
2. Ibanez musician I brought from tiger music in Brighton in 1984 and my Wal mk II I got from the bass centre wapping in errr 1992 I think
3. Capitol theatre in Horsham last night with ' no jacket required ' Phil collins/genesis tribute.fantastic audience and great fun! Finding I'm leaning towards the status more than the wal these days with this band!
4.
My advice is just focus on the music , the strings will be fine, I've spent far to much time getting bogged down in set up when I should have been practicing !
5. I've yet to find better than a tecamp puma 900, crystal clear, punchy as hell and you can dial in a bit of grunt if you want with the taste knob..very compact too.fantastic bit of kit:-)
6.
AER Amp One
I've just splashed out on an aer amp3.yes,it's a big outlay but my first impressions are this thing is unbelievable!! First gig with it tomorrow night,it's real quality sound and has some proper heft behind the notes.i can't see myself having to buy any other amp or cab soon .if your budget allows....
7. yes my nxt cab I'd like to go ceramic again, hence the post.think it's a toss up between the xs115 and a barefaced 2x10.id like to buy British but I do like a tweeter and the bf doesn't have one. Thanks very much for your time and opinions :-)
8. Hi,may I ask for anyones opinion or experience with these cabs please? I noticed they are all ceramic speakers.how do they compare to the old tecamp neodymium ones? How would the xs115 compare to a bf big baby? Thanks for your time.cheers:-)
9. They should make reissue of the musician bass but at a reasonable price this time!! A 5 string version would be very interesting.the musician was their 'classic ' model in my opinion.
10. I recently acquired a series 2 headed 5. Cracking bass and really digging it too!! Enjoy:-)
11. Hi there, may I ask where you are based please? Many thanks, jeff
12. I sanded some wood floors for John many moons ago, when he lived just outside godalming. An absolutely lovely down to earth bloke.signed all my asia albums and even let me have a blast on a new bass he was trying out for ibanez at the time.he was very humble in the fact that he thanked me for buying his records!! A very great loss as a person and to the bass world.rip John x
13. I'd love to use a totally British set up.im nearly there!! My Wal's are my go to basses and I'm very happy with my barefaced super12/big twin cabs but the only snag is my tecamp puma 900.its by far the best micro amp I've had so far.does anyone know of a British equivalent in terms of sound/size/quality?? I'd love to 'complete the circle ' so to speak. And for the record,I've just brought a status series ll headed 5 as a back up and am pretty blown away by its quality/sound and ergonomics.bloody marvellous instrument.yeeeeah!! Hear hear for best of British bass:-)!!x
14. Must stop looking must stop looking.....
15. Amazing basses!enjoy:-)
16. Hi there, I have both, and I find myself going back to the super12t most of the time , even theatre shows.if you're playing larger gigs with no pa support then it's possibly worth considering but for pub gigs only then no, the super 12t is all you need in my opinion.im in West Sussex so if you wanna a/b them both together then you are more than welcome.
17.
I have seen Rush six times over the years....one of my all time favourite bands, but the sound quality/mix has been consistently diabolical. Strange that one of my favourite bands gigs should have proved some of the biggest disappointments.
18. Mr moulding be one of the unsung heroes for me, most definitely!
19. There is an art to teaching and those who are good at it get my admiration big time, but. ... I had 5 or so lessons years ago with a name player.amazing player, of course but I was made to feel slow and patience certainly wasn't his strong point. I would dread going up there (which was hassle anyway) as not particularly local. In the end I thought f**k this lark, paying very good money at the time and having my confidence drained, so jacked it in! So to all the great teachers out there. I salute thee and keep it up! !
20. Hi ,may I ask where you are based please? Many thanks
21. Played this bass earlier today, very very good condition, definately a quality built guitar, unfortunately just ergonomically not for me.tom and his family are very nice people and a lovely view from the farmhouse by the way! So have a bump on me .
22. I got a puma 900 from thomann a couple of months ago, great pairing with my barefaced super12,.genz amps are great, but the puma is still a cut above in my opinion.very clean, super fast as you'd expect.sounds amazing with the wals!!
23. Mmm interesting, after owning some AE210's quite amazing little cabs! Bet these will pack a punch.strange but always thought one sounded better than both together, guess I wasn't pushing them hard enough maybe? Still great little mini rigs of doom, their new cousins shouldn't disappoint .
