  1. Headless basses. No matter what the body shape.
  2. The Threadlock should do the trick, but I was wondering if plumber's tape (PTFE tape) would work.
  3. I never took music classes in school very seriously, though I was in the school choir and ended up playing the lead in the school musical, in sixth form. I probably never looked at it as a serious academic subject, compared to the likes of Maths, English or the sciences. I think quite a few people in the class were of a similar mindset and it was only the ones who went on to choose the subject for GCSE who took it seriously.
  4. A Fleetwood Mac tribute band called Big Love. They weren't bad, though some of their intros were interesting - one song started and we thought it was going to be "Common People" by Pulp. The drummer looked like he could have been Mick Fleetwood's dad. It was a fun night.
  5. I've been learning guitar (sue me), so I've been watching channels like Anyone Can Play Guitar - really good tutorials and covers a range of styles, like jazz, blues, indie, punk, rockabilly, reggae... Justin Guitar is very good too. he covers a lot of theory as well as songs.
  6. I'm very sorry to hear it @Gasman My deepest condolences to you and your family.
  7. Sorry, the engineer what now? 😳
  8. At 9 years old, that just makes it worse! 😲😳
  9. Summer of '69 - Bryan Adams Bryan, you were 9 years old in the summer of '69. There's no way you played until your fingers bled.
  10. That's probably how he kept getting shocked
  11. I love the wedjat pendant... very "The World's End". I got the one from the cover of "Vision Thing" as a tattoo (only it turned out a bit shit)
  12. Pretty much anything by Robbie Williams, but especially "Angels" Most REM stuff Most Alannis Morrisette stuff Another shout for "What's Up" by 4 Non Blondes
  13. Burn the heretic πŸ˜„
  14. It's impossible to get cover against banjo or accordion players, though.
  15. Then walk in and say "I'd leave that for ten minutes"
  16. = bog standard Squier
  17. I can't give any advice as to the best place for selling gear (though I have bought an item on Basschat with no problems), but I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis and would like to wish you the best.
  18. Sam x is a great name for a band. 😁
  19. I wonder if that did actually come from Lucy Worsley. πŸ˜† Viz do actually print genuine letters from readers. I know someone who's had a few printed.
  20. One of the shops local to me, Matchetts, is actually quite competitive with the other online retailers when it comes to price (they do have online shopping too, which can be handy for click and collect). but they do offer a lot of other services too. They have instructional sessions, where you can book in and they will show you basic set-up techniques, for example; how to change strings, tune up, check the action and so on. They had a guy in from D'Addario a while back to demonstrate the new Xpand pedal board. I got a free t-shirt and won a tuning pedal. I had a guitar lesson last week and my tutor had bought a new PRS guitar and asked if I wanted to try it. I gave him my Ibanez and he was raving about the set up on it. I'd done nothing to the set-up; that was all down to the guys in the shop. He liked it so much that he wants to borrow it to make some videos for his business social media accounts.
  21. That sounds great!
  22. 😁Deep Purple's guitarist, Simon McBride lived at the bottom of my street. I don’t think I ever met him as he's about 5 years younger than me, but I do remember when he won the Young Guitarist of the Year competition. Does that count?
  23. I think I've seen James Hetfield use one for songs where he switches between electric and acoustic.
  24. A new branch of HMV? You really must think it's still 1987. πŸ˜„
