1. Is there a reason anyone would want an Internet radio? Philips have just released one , with access to more than 30,000 Internet stations . Costs approx £120. They seem so expensive too. Please could somebody explain ?
2. Forgot to mention , I do not like the hofner Beatles bass. Ugh!
3. It's a bit like footballers , with some of the worst hairstyles ever;) They get away with it, because they're footballers Football managers on the other hand..
4. Headless..gold hardware& yellow .
5. Has anyone mentioned not liking yellow basses yet? Next to my headless basses, my collection is pretty pony to most on this thread:(
6.
That is what I would refer to as a "Turd on a stick".
Is that not posh spice ?
7. Oops ! Thought I was on the Adam Johnson website . Got confused.
8. 15w is a bit low t b h . Maybe good for bass whisperer impressions Depends on crowd size/ acoustic etc. I would imagine you'd be better going for something in the£200 bracket , if you're not in a hurry to upgrade . You may get a bargain on here. Eastwood, jack Cassidy used , epiphone and another popular one that has escaped my mind at the moment. You could do a you pube search under Hollowbody bass ?
9. Ac/dc highway to hell Play that funky music We did song2 as an encore , and a fan jumped on top of me . The guitarist was shouting at me telling me not to scratch his guitar , but I obviously couldn't help it never dropped a note . Great gig .
10. Forgot about hawk wind rainbow theatre, sonic attack tour. Best time I saw them .loud and sonic;) I was at the Rollins / r h c p gig at Brixton,. Didn't notice the loudness so to speak. What I do remember is Henry shouting at an imaginary crowd member" if you think you're so tough.. " etc. Pretty boring . Oh, nearly forgot Motörhead at donington 1986? Apparently could be heard 10 miles away, according to people we met on the way home next day. Sunn . Haven't heard of them . May check them out on you pube .
11. Yeah. I was gonna suggest a DVD, but Scott's the man .
12. So today for the first time in ages, I picked up the above and had a. Blast for over an hour . Haven't touched my basses for ages, due to myasthenia making me lethargic and lazy. I need to get a long strap with lace to wear it properly etc. It felt awkward at first tbh,but after about 20 mins I was getting some sort of fluidity. The initial pain I had was disappearing. What I did notice tho' , is the action is completely out. It looks a bi fiddly to adjust , so I'll leave it to the expert to sort out. What I wondering tho', is what type of strings are best for it? I've tried round wound/ flat wound . Haven't chose nylon yet. I'm after very light strings . Anyone got a similar bass, and could give advice ? Was thinking about offloading and getting something smaller, but I love the yellow;) Cheers
13. Thought it was rod hull and emu for a minute .
14. Didn't think Jackson did thunderbirds. Jackson always look - good for metal nice bass
15. I say relax. I paid around £30 with box/ manual etc. Other ones will appear soon imho
16. They will use someone to finish off the tour apparently . After that, I think the writings on the wall , and they should call it a day . No idea, but only 2 spring to mind : steve soussa( I think that's his name? Exodus frontman )and the vocalist from airborne .( spellchecker issues)
17. Believe it or not , since going to my first gig in '79, I can only think of 2 .. Or 3 at a push . 1) iron maiden , metal for muthas gig Lyceum 1979. Can't remember how many encores they did ( more than 2) . Di'anno was screaming at the sound guys to turn it up even louder . Even some of the muthas had enough. Bit too uncomfortable. 2) manowar ( snigger;) ) Blow your speakers tour hammy odeon 1987(?) Full Marshall stack . Not for show. They used them . Halfway back in the stalls, sound was great , despite the volume. 3) Motörhead ace up your sleeve tour , hammy o 1980. I had the flu , but saw 2 of the 4 gigs there . Lemmy passing my friend vodka with a tiny it if orange juice didn't help. Deaf for all of the next day . Anybody else ?
18. There's me thinking dad was a mod on here and a drummer. Will read this later..
19. IMHO , there are everyday things other than music, that are potentially worse . For example; in a loading bay where "builders" chuck metal objects on concrete floors from their lorries. Trying to talk to the security staff on the other side of the reception desk , without using too many expletives is very difficult .? That is actually worse than having a drummer hitting his/ her foot pedals when you are on your knees setting up your equipment ( and theirs , which explains the kneeling down;) )
20. Until Xmas time last year, there were always ones up for sale , more or less every week . I got mine about 18 months ago on here . Give it time , and a few more will pop up
21. I've always been wary of in ear phones . Just don't feel safe , although millions of sales have proved me wrong . I use akg noise reducing for commuting . I have a pair of sennheisers ( or beyer dynamic ) for bass playing / recording etc
