    I like them, but can't get on with them! Tried a good few, but with they just don't have that tone in my hands. Can't disagree with the fact that it's probably the most recorded bass ever.....so the problem is most definitely with me!

    I watch CBC every year. Love it. Due a watch tomorrow as it's Christmas Eve. I was playing around with the soundtrack last night. Vince Guaraldi was a genius. He was immensely proud of his Charlie Brown work and rightly so. He had a good voice as well....witness 'Little Birdie' and one of my favourites, the totally legendary 'Joe Cool'! 😎

    Manic Street Preachers - pre-1995, before Richey Edwards went missing. Totally different band, lyrically and musically. Can't abide what they became 1996-onward....sold millions more records, but lost all of what made them different and great. Blue Oyster Cult - Tricky one....first 3 'black and white' albums are sublime, post-'Reaper'.....some great stuff, but never the real consistent heights they reached on albums 2 and 3. All IMHO of course.....😀

    Pete Way - A Fast Ride Out Of Here - The Autobiography Read once, so in very good good condition indeed. Tiny spine crease, other than that, immaculate. I bought it as a 'not a big' UFO fan or anything, like some of the classic stuff, moreover, it's just a great rock 'n' roll bass tale! The rise, fall, and.....well, you'll have to read it to find out! New copies are a tenner, so only looking for £6 posted to your door in the UK. Payment by PayPal 'gift' please.     Honourable mention to the late David Brown on bass....did a couple of stints with Carlos, awesome player. Not a particularly well known name, and sadly the drink and drugs took him in the end.

    RIP Pete. I was thrilled to see them back in '93, not too long after they'd relaunched. They'd released a new album at the time as well, and it was great to see them on the up again. Less than a year later, they were out with Nirvana! Place was tiny, so we were right up close. Awesome gig. He had such a way with melody and delivery. Those records are timeless. I really like the later stuff he wrote at the end of their first incarnation - stuff like 'Strange Thing' - really underrated.

    I think it has slowed. I listed my US Geddy Lee, a minter, £500 off the going price...and it's still with me. I'll either keep it, or pass it on to a shop to sell for me to widen the net. Either way, I think the slightly bigger ticket items are sticking on here right now.

    Bit of a thread resurrection here - it's been shown on Sky Arts, and I recorded it. Loved it, very entertaining. Does anyone know if the DVD has got any decent extras on it? Just thinking ahead for Christmas ideas, maybe get the Blu Ray for my collection, as it's the only Rush DVD I'm missing. But having seen it, it's only really worth it if there's some decent extra stuff on there.....

    I really can't stand this kind of carry on. Mind blowingly unnecessary. They all seem to follow a pattern - simply ruin a track with meaningless orchestral flourishes where they detect there should be an accent. Taking old rock and roll, it's doing to it exactly what rock and roll wasn't! To me, it's like taking the Mona Lisa and drawing a dirty great 'tache on it, or worse! 🧔

    Had a productive chat with an old bandmate this afternoon about originals. We're on a similar page, so got a bit of potential there..... Going to keep looking out for other opportunities as well, just in case. Not sure we have any originals circuit around here at all, probably further afield. There was one great place we used to play in a previous originals band, but it long gone now.
