  1. I just got back from seeing Queens of the Stone Age in Birmingham. Simply awesome, would 100% recommend.
  2. Dadford and Sons surely?
  3. Some mates of mine perform as the Sad Dad Club. I suspect one of their kids came up with it.
  4. Another BG250-115 user here. I have various options but this is the one I use most. Good price too 👍
  5. I used to break Tortex all the time, so much that I stopped using them. Dunlop nylon .88s don't have this problem, or the Dava control picks that I prefer.
  6. Because at that time old P basses weren't very valuable.
  7. I find it quite bland, maybe because all the character has been processed out of Lennon's vocal. The Beatles made some truly excellent music, but that was some time ago. Making this wasn't really necessary in my opinion.
  8. Agreed, they appear to be quite dreadful people with very little talent. This is actually pretty good, and clearly an up yours response to how he was treated.
  9. Apologies for the delay, my pedal board is in my mates studio and he's not been available. I'll update ASAP
  10. No idea, but @Ashdown Engineering are usually pretty helpful 👍
  11. I came close to giving up some years ago. Instead I started collecting unusual bass guitars, although I've now reduced the collection somewhat. I kept my hand in, played with a folk outfit for a bit but quit that when other members demonstrated their lack of regard for the time I was committing to the project. Then I got contacted by a lifelong friend and former bandmate asking if I'd be interested in getting involved in a musical project with him and a very talented songwriter. I seized the opportunity, and now at the age of 51 am playing the best I ever have - creating music I am immensely proud of (including singing! ) with two great mates. We have a good laugh, we perform professionally and I am so glad I didn't jack it in.
  12. I've never had any extra charges buying from Thomann. My last purchase was only £244, but that is all I paid. Edit - this was May '22
  13. Thanks Lawrie - I'll measure my current board and get back to you later in the week 👍
  14. MXR Poly Blue Octave does that and much more.
  15. Edit your original post and add sold to the title - it will automatically lock 👍
  16. Is that the one with a 2-piece bridge setup? 🥰
  17. Performed for the first time with our new backing tracks to a fairly captive audience of mostly stallholders in a market! Very well received, it was great to look around and see them nearly all having a little boogie almost without realising they were doing it. The sound was great, we were setup super quick and off the stage so quickly afterwards we caught the crew napping.
  18. I've got one this weekend with Aimless Arrows. Weavers Market in Trowbridge at 1415, with quite an interesting line up of bands starting around 1130. We are debuting our new live sound, it's going to be exciting! Edit - we have been moved to a new venue. Emannuels Yard so as to avoid a clash with the bellringers! Same time, and same great line up.
  19. I'm not one to hide my light under a bushel
