  1. I may well be interested, depending on dates etc
  2. I once did a pub gig where I had no choice but to use the main act's bass rig. I was told in no uncertain terms not to touch the settings at all which I wouldn't have minded as much if it hadn't been a Hiwatt amp with a grand total of 5 controls!
  3. Which he is trying to get around by describing them as unbranded and carefully avoiding photos of the headstock.
  4. My 'sour grapes' as you describe them are to do with the fact that I was sold a bass described as new with no reference to the true facts as to it's origin. I feel deliberately misled and am trying to help others from the same fate.
  5. Absolutely, it is deliberate deceit in fact. I am one of those who left positive feedback - being at the time unaware of the existence of these models from Thomann. Had I been aware I would have returned the bass.
  6. 99% of buyers are unaware what they are buying..
  7. Into 8 Ohms your amp will deliver 375 watts so not quite as bad as you think
  8. Moon has a beautiful soundtrack, and is a great film

    Grantgam

I sold @grantgam an Epiphone Thunderbird - the sale was smooth and easy. I would happily deal with Grant again.
  10. Much like the problem some people have with traction control in cars - if you take the time to learn about it and work with it then it can be a useful tool. However if you either don't understand how it works or use it properly it feels obstructive and unnatural.
  11. I reckon you have found the reason for such a crazy deal..
  12. Scene of Gary Glitter's first gig, allegedly!
  13. I modified an Ashdown combo head to make it rack-mountable. I purchased it in a homemade wooden casing which was crap! 10 mins with an angle grinder, another 10 with a dremel de-burring the cuts. 4 holes drilled in the front. I used the offcut pieces of the casing to add some strength across the top using the existing holes where it mounted to the combo, otherwise it flexed quite a bit.
  14. I was thinking of bringing my Fender MIJ Jazz Bass Special (which isn't really a Jazz!) my Allen Eden Jazz (which is) a Hutchins Thunderbolt Tele, Hohner B bass IV and my BC Rich Zombie so anyone that wants to can experience the horror!
  15. I can bring a set of electro/acoustic bass strings for the raffle if that's any use? I'm planning on bringing a selection of my bass guitars too, just the interesting ones and probably my little Marshall practice amp as the sound of the fan in my Hartke will probably cause offence!
  16. ^^ exactly my attitude. I worked out I have spent around 3.5k and could see closer to 5k back thanks to some lucky buys.
  17. I like themes in my collecting, I used to have four fake Fenders (and one real) but that is now three with one more for sale. I have a thing for natural wood finishes, and am liking the idea of companions for the ones I really like! My current count stands at 18, with one for sale and at least one more going up for sale this weekend but I really struggle to let any go..
  18. I got the same email, but am also already registered.
  19. You should contact them, there should be a code on the packaging. I love D'addario strings, and if you register the codes online for points you can get free stuff including new strings
  20. I like them, and want to try as many as possible so I try to buy low in order to not lose too much money. I have recently picked up some real bargains that have sat unused and unloved for years, cleaned them, set them up with new strings and then sold on for a very modest profit. The hope is that I can gradually trade up to some more exotic models. They are all different, and I find that I play differently as a consequence.
