  1. Thank you so much for your very comprehensive and informative reply - it is very much appreciated πŸ‘πŸ‘. The pics are also very helpful, as the top one shows that the fret lines continue over the edge of the finger board - which were sadly lacking on my Tanglewood Lined Fretless. The second picture confirms that there seems to be very little wiggle room to reduce the bridge saddle and to to take any off the actual bridge body itself on an instrument of this value would probably be inadvisable - to say the least πŸ™ˆ!! As previously stated being a low action fan - my Basses are set at around 2mm at the twelfth fret position, so with also being an arthritic ridden old fossil, I always struggle with anything much higher ☹️!! Thank you again for your help and may I say your Mouse really does look like a Bobby Dazzler πŸ‘πŸ‘ All the best, Tim
  2. Hi Guys & Gals, does anyone know if the above Travel bass has a bridge saddle not physically attached to the Piezo - so it can be sanded down to lower the action please? - thank youπŸ‘πŸ‘
  3. I'm attempting to save up for a Rob Allen 30" Lined Fretless Mouse, but being an ultra low action Fan, can any existing owners give me an indication of how low the action is and if possible a measurement around the 12th Fret region and if anyone has lowered the action and how? The only way I've been able to lower the action on previous Acoustic / Electro acoustics with 'fixed' bridges, was by adjusting the truss rod a smidge and by shaving down the underside of the bridge saddle - But I wouldn't fancy attempting that on such an expensive instrument. πŸ‘
  4. Bought Iain's MB200 from him. It was immaculate, his communication was second to none, delivery was fast, hassle free and he was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Therefore M'Lud, in conclusion I would recommend him to all on here - unreservedly πŸ‘πŸ‘ Thanks again Iain, Cheers, Tim
  5. I used two of these when I was Gigging - they are incredible at this price point with lots of bang for your buck and the balance of the tweeter is spot on - bargain alert πŸ‘πŸ‘
  6. These are incredible Cabs and I would still have mine if l were Gigging regularly πŸ‘πŸ‘
  7. Bought Kev's Fretless, he was an absolute pleasure to deal with as usual and I would heartily recommend him to everyoneπŸ‘πŸ‘ Thanks again Kev πŸ‘πŸ‘
  8. My really nice Tanglewood Roadster Travel TWR BE Electro Acoustic Lined Fretless Bass in really good used condition.. Having owned a few Kala U Basses and even a Goldtone Micro Bass, in my humble opinion this is a far superior Travel Bass. The action on this is far lower than any other Travel, Micro or U Bass I have owned, or played which I always found to be to high. i know it's a personal thing, but I also couldn't get used to the rubbery type strings, where as the Black Nylon flat wound fitted to this are a joy to play, plus they seem to hold their tuning a lot better and the intonation seems better - at least to my old cloth ears. The lined fretboard also assists intonation and the Bass is loud enough to hear in a small room, so ideal to pick up and have a 'noodle' without having to connect to an amp - when you do play it through an amp the sound is rich, deep and produces that lovely 'woody' dry sound. The built in preamp is a doddle to use, the tuner is really good and can be used acoustically again without having to connect to an amp. Features/Specifications: Body & Bridge: Shape: Traveller Bass Top: Spruce Back: Mahogany Sides: Mahogany Bridge: Rosewood Finish: Natural Matt Neck: Neck (Material): Mahogany Fingerboard: Rosewood Binding (Top): N/A Saddle: ABS White, Compensated Nut (Width): ABS White (43mm) Scale Length: 580mm Electronics & Hardware: EQ: Tanglewood TUT EQ Machine Heads: Black Die Cast Strings: Nylon

  9. Hi, Thank you for your interest, I may be interested in a small class D amp in p/x - please feel free to PM me with what were you thinking of trading? Cheers, Tim
  10. MarkBass - original Made In Italy Minimark 602 Bass Combo - 150w via the internal speakers, or 250w if connected to an 8ohm extension cab. Auxiliary input for phone /iPad / MP3 / CD player etc to play along to. Headphone output and Speaker off switch for silent practise / tuning. Line output for connection to a mixer, power amp, or as in my case - connecting to my other 602. Small, will fit into virtually any car boot - very light and surprisingly loud even on it's own and even louder connected to an 8ohm extension cab. Complete with dedicated Roqsolid, heavy duty cover. These really are great combos, that produce all those lovely deep rich bass tones & the only reason I am letting it go is that I am lucky enough to own two of them and one is plenty loud enough for my needs - especially when connected to my Barefaced One 10. In very good used condition with just the odd mark from normal use & everything works as it should. Β£375.00 posted to the UK Mainland, or Β£350 collected from North Staffordshire. May be interested in a deal involving a small Class D head such as MarkBass Little Mark, Gallien Krueger, Eden etc in p/x. The Micromark's big brother sports two 6" custom neodymium woofers and an onboard piezo tweeter, and cranks out an incredible 250 watts of power when used with an extension cab (150W on its own). With its astonishing volume, it's a brilliant choice for rehearsing, practicing and teaching. And yes, you can use it on gigs! The compact amp section includes level control, VLE and VPF filters, aux in, headphone out, speaker on/off switch and balanced XLR line out. Never has it been so easy to take public transport to a gig. In fact, take your gig anywhere you can plug in! Impedance: 8 ohm Speaker size: 2 x 6" Reflex: rear Tweeter: Piezo Tweeter Cab Power Handling: 300W RMS (AES Standard) Power Supply: Special Markbass digital power supply Crossover Frequency: 3.5kHz Power amp output: 150W 8 ohm / 250W 4 ohm Frequency Response: 59Hz to 18kHz Sensitivity: 101 dB SPL Weight: 20.72 lbs. Dimensions: 8.86"W x 17.24"H x 15.24"D
  11. Nay problem πŸ‘πŸ‘ - just been playing and looking closely at mine - I think Fender forgot to tell the Chinese not to make them 'this' good πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ‘πŸ‘...
  12. If this works - 'card carrying' Technophobe - this 'should' be a link to allegedly our very own Dood (respect πŸ‘) and his excellent review of one .... https://www.guitarinteractivemagazine.com/issues/issue-30/reviews/fender-modern-player-short-scale-jazz-bass/
  13. These really are cracking Basses, the build quality on mine is exceptional plus the scale length makes them sooooooooo easy to play. They also seem to be quite far and few between these days, as it took me a couple years to find mine. I think I saw a red one very recently on eBay & they were asking around Β£750. ps - Santa is bringing me some Black Nylon La Bella Flats for Xmas - can't wait πŸŽ…πŸ»πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘πŸ‘
  14. Yes, that's what I meant by sideways movement - it's 'not a lot' but can help on some Basses to line up better with pickup pole pieces, or to move a string slightly away from the edge of the fingerboard πŸ‘πŸ‘
  15. I think the only benefits are that they tend to look the part on period Basses and arguably, provide a very small amount of sideways movement to improve alignment with pickup poles or neck.
  16. Thanks, but I'm looking for the 'threaded' style barrels.
  17. Yes, I saw these but didn't know if it was for one, or a set of four, bit pricey for a single barrel - thank you.πŸ‘πŸ‘
  18. Thank you, I was hoping to be able to just buy the barrels, or even better, the barrels with the string height and intonation screws, if possible being a 'tight old pensioner' πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ - used ones would be just as good, if anyone has any? πŸ‘πŸ‘
  19. Hi Guys, anyone know where I can obtain these from please?
  20. These are incredible instruments - the neck on mine is as good as anything I've owned, or even played during the past half Century πŸ˜³πŸ˜³πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ‘πŸ‘
  21. Thanks Twincam - not located my Stanley knife yet, so it may have to wait until the weekend πŸ‘πŸ‘
  22. Managed to get the bottom of the bridge piece as flat as a Witches threepenny bit and despite a possible slight improvement, there is still a difference in volume - now, where's that Stanley Knife? πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ‘πŸ‘
