  1. Hi, sorry it sold on Fleabay and I forgot to amend the post - apologies ๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ™‚
  2. Another great purchase from Justin ๐Ÿ‘ As usual he was an absolute pleasure to deal with and again, I would recommend him to all on here - unreservedly. Thanks again Justin ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
  3. Hi Ian, I think it may be sold, but I'll give you a shout if it falls through - if that's OK? cheers Tim
  4. Thanks Guys - she certainly is a beaut๐Ÿ˜. If only I wasn't a Technophobic old fossil of gargantuan proportions, I could post a sound bite type thingy โ˜น๏ธโ˜น๏ธ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ™ˆ!! With the original rubber strings it sounds very much like an upright Bass - (which reminds me, I think I still have the original set of Aguilar Reds somewhere, which I will obviously include - if I can find them). With these new La Bella Silverbacks - it sounds more like a regular Electro / Acoustic Bass to my old cloth ears. Amplified through my little MarkBass 602 Combo, it sounds monstrous - with either set of strings ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘.
  5. ๐Ÿ˜Gold Tone 23" Scale Micro Bass fretted, in excellent condition, complete with a new set of La Bella Silverback strings - which are far superior to the original rubber ones. In my humble opinion, these are much easier to play than the two Kala Basses I had before this - those extra few inches on the scale really do make all the difference, as does the cutaway to allow greater accessibility to the higher frets. The electronics and Tuner are superb and seem very high quality. The heavily padded Gig Bag is also in good condition, apart from some slight 'cat scratch' to the front pocket & a small section on the rear. Specifications 23" Scale Recommended Tuning: EADG (like standard electric or upright bass) 19 Frets with Cutaway Arched Back Custom-Made Silverback Strings by La Bella (other string options available) Mahogany Neck Mahogany Back and Sides "Ergo-Glide" Top Rosewood Fingerboard and Bridge Bone Nut (1-11/16") Custom die-cast tuners Built-in Piezo Transducer w/ Electronic Tuner and Slide Control for the EQ - Rotary Volume Control 23" scale model specifics: 36" Total length (modeled after "Baby Taylor" Acoustic Guitar Dimensions) 2.8 Deluxe, Heavily Padded, Embroidered Gig Bag ** Can post to the UK Mainland at buyers expense.- which will probably be around ยฃ20 to ยฃ25 max. via Parcelforce 24.**

  7. Is there indication of a split in the 'usual place' on the rear of the headstock by the E Tuner?

  10. ** Now ยฃ275.00 ** Here is my wonderful Kala Electro / Acoustic Fretted U Bass in solid, book matched Bubinga hard wood and not to be confused with the less expensive models offered by Kala, which although are wonderful instruments, they do not have the same exotic appearance of this beautiful wood. Gorgeous solid Mahogany neck. The built in Chromatic Tuner is superb, as are the volume and tone controls. The condition is superb, although the foam hard case has a few marks, a small tear on the front pocket and the lining has partially come away, but could easily be fixed - Zips all working ok. The action is high - see pics - but this is the norm for Kala Basses and does not cause any problems, as the polymer strings are very soft, pliable and easy to fret. This has to be the ultimate home noodling bass and can be heard enough acoustically in a quiet living, or bedroom providing those lovely sonic bass tones, but when plugged into an amp or PA it produces lovely, deep rich Bass that sounds as close to a double upright Bass as possible and the look on the rest of the bands faces iwhen you do s a sight to behold!! The Kala U-Bass sets a new sonic standard for travel-sized instruments. It's tuned in traditional bass tuning and sized to fit into the overhead compartment of an airplane, yet it's packed with thick, rich acoustic bass tone. Many bassists insist the U-Bass offers tones extremely close to the sound of an upright bass. What's the secret behind this portable, affordable bass's rich sound? It's the combination of the gorgeous solid bubinga body, a solid mahogany neck, a rosewood fingerboard, and a rosewood bridge. High-quality appointments Travel size, huge tone High-quality appointments The magic of the U-Bass is in the details. Kala paid attention to the whole instrument, giving it a reliable set of custom Hipshot tuners plus an amazing Shadow pickup system for when you want to plug in and play. Travel size, huge tone Kala U-Bass Acoustic-electric Bass Travel Guitar Features at a Glance: Acoustic-electric bass travel guitar Solid bubinga top and body and a mahogany neck Rosewood fingerboard and rosewood bridge 20" scale, tuned to traditional EADG Strung with proprietary polyurethane strings Offers much of the sound of an upright bass Extremely portable (meets carry-on standards) Features custom Hipshot tuners for tuning stability Active Shadow pickup system with 4 individual piezo elements Can post to the UK Mainland - should be about ยฃ20 - payment via PayPal friends & family, or bank transfer - thank you.

  12. Being in my dotage - where the main consideration before buying any Bass is weight, then it has to be single cut jobbies - which in my humble opinion of course - is a totally unnecessary addition if weight and being a somewhat boring traditionalist - they are so damn ugly !! Not overly convinced by anything with a headstock either, despite the aforementioned traditionalism IMHO again they are another unnecessary addition of weight, plus the need to not have to twist a string ( that is essentially something that is designed and produced in a linear fashion ) around a tuner capstan, is something that has always appealed to my engineering roots. The totally out of character with the body Musicman pickguard and control plate which to my old eyes don't 'scan' with the beautifully designed Musicman body - dropped one there's Leo, despite cleverly shortening the headstock๐Ÿ‘ Plus all other basses where the pickguard - ( the fitting of which should always be an option of course, considering the majority of players use their fingers ) does not 'scan' with the body shape - just for the sake of radicalism.
  13. Ruddy heck - think I sold him an F1 a few years back - knew he'd be a great player!!
  14. It's one of these - if the link works - if you scroll down there's a Chap playing one. https://www.guitarinteractivemagazine.com/issues/issue-30/reviews/fender-modern-player-short-scale-jazz-bass/
  15. Hi, I bought this one locally from a guitarist who fancied playing bass so wanted a short scale, but then never got around to it - thankfully The red one is a bit flashy for my old bones - Can't believe they couldn't produce a short scale under my personal threshold of 8lbs - maybe they chambered the body and then filled it with lead ?? or made the bodies from a particular dense species of Alder !!
  16. Hi, yes that's the very Jobbie right there - defo made in China. Thank you, I should have been more specific.
  17. After a two year search I've finally managed to bag one of these beauties in the 'see through' white Finish and - apart from the weight - it is an absolute cracker Just wondered if there are any Fender aficionados out there in BC land who know when these were made from & until, were they only available in the white and candy red Finish and obviously roughly, how many were produced before production stopped? I still can't believe that Fender in their infinite wisdom decided to stop making these cracking, versatile, easy to play, great sounding Basses ??
  18. In my very humble opinion - type bump, I think they are more than capable of almost any jazz gig, or bands in pubs and small clubs - unless your drummer is building a shed and believes 'light & shade' is purely a visual concept, plus they are ideal for rehearsals, as long as your band doesn't annoyingly insists on rehearsing at 'stage' volume, 'every time' you run through a song - with the aforementioned animal on the skins - apologies to all drumming Meisters of course !!
  19. Chris just bought my GK MB200. He is a great Guy, an absolute pleasure to deal with and I would recommend him to anyone Thanks again Chris, All the best Tim
  20. Tiny footprint, huge sound & in Minty fresh condition with everything working as it should, plus it actually DOES fit in to the accessory pocket of my Bass Guitar Gig bag - 140w at 8 ohms / 200w at 4 ohms. Contour switch, aux. In / headphones out and does not need to be connected to a cab to use - so fab for practising, combined Speakon / 1/4" Speaker Jack, Line out with Pre/ Post EQ switch. - 10db switch for active basses + whisper quiet variable speed cooling fan - it's the Tardis of Bass Amps This is the designed AND assembled in the USA version and not assembled in the Far East - if that means anything these days? Apart from being loud enough to use as a main amp for pubs and clubs, especially at 4 ohms - this 'Swiss Army Knife' of Bass Amps has to be the ultimate 'back up' amp Here are the Tech - specs we all love:- -10dB padInput ImpedanceDirect Output ImpedanceAux-In Input ImpedanceEqualizer:BassLo-MidHi-MidTrebleVoicing Filters:ContourNoise: -90 dB reference to 200W/140W, "A" Weighted.Amplifier Protection:Full short circuit, thermal and RF protection.Stable into reactive and mismatch loads.Five second muted warm-up.Cooling:Variable speed SPECS140W @ 8 Ohms,200W @ 4 Ohms.0.6V Rms1.6V Rms1M Ohms500 Ohms100K Ohms+/-10dB @ 60Hz+6dB/-10dB @ 250Hz+6dB/-10dB @ 1KHz+/-14dB @ 7KHz+2dB @ 50Hz/ -10dB @ 500Hz/+3dB @ 7 KHzOwners ManualPart # 160-0630-A2MB 2004 BANDEQAMPAMPDimensions:Height: 2.50" [63.50mm] ( With Rubber Feet)1.75" [44.45mm] ( Without Rubber Feet)Width:7.75" [196.85mm]Depth:8.00" [203.20mm]Weight:Power requirements:MB20010AUX INHEADPHONES12LINEOUT2.00 lbs. 21. Paul bought my - much missed already - One 10 cab He was an absolute pleasure to deal with and so needless to say -- but I will - I would recommend him to all on here - 'without fear of contraception' in the words of Mrs Slocombe. Thanks again Paul ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
