  1. After a two year search I've finally managed to bag one of these beauties in the 'see through' white Finish and - apart from the weight - it is an absolute cracker Just wondered if there are any Fender aficionados out there in BC land who know when these were made from & until, were they only available in the white and candy red Finish and obviously roughly, how many were produced before production stopped? I still can't believe that Fender in their infinite wisdom decided to stop making these cracking, versatile, easy to play, great sounding Basses ??
  2. In my very humble opinion - type bump, I think they are more than capable of almost any jazz gig, or bands in pubs and small clubs - unless your drummer is building a shed and believes 'light & shade' is purely a visual concept, plus they are ideal for rehearsals, as long as your band doesn't annoyingly insists on rehearsing at 'stage' volume, 'every time' you run through a song - with the aforementioned animal on the skins - apologies to all drumming Meisters of course !!
  3. Chris just bought my GK MB200. He is a great Guy, an absolute pleasure to deal with and I would recommend him to anyone Thanks again Chris, All the best Tim
  4. Tiny footprint, huge sound & in Minty fresh condition with everything working as it should, plus it actually DOES fit in to the accessory pocket of my Bass Guitar Gig bag - 140w at 8 ohms / 200w at 4 ohms. Contour switch, aux. In / headphones out and does not need to be connected to a cab to use - so fab for practising, combined Speakon / 1/4" Speaker Jack, Line out with Pre/ Post EQ switch. - 10db switch for active basses + whisper quiet variable speed cooling fan - it's the Tardis of Bass Amps This is the designed AND assembled in the USA version and not assembled in the Far East - if that means anything these days? Apart from being loud enough to use as a main amp for pubs and clubs, especially at 4 ohms - this 'Swiss Army Knife' of Bass Amps has to be the ultimate 'back up' amp Here are the Tech - specs we all love:- -10dB padInput ImpedanceDirect Output ImpedanceAux-In Input ImpedanceEqualizer:BassLo-MidHi-MidTrebleVoicing Filters:ContourNoise: -90 dB reference to 200W/140W, "A" Weighted.Amplifier Protection:Full short circuit, thermal and RF protection.Stable into reactive and mismatch loads.Five second muted warm-up.Cooling:Variable speed SPECS140W @ 8 Ohms,200W @ 4 Ohms.0.6V Rms1.6V Rms1M Ohms500 Ohms100K Ohms+/-10dB @ 60Hz+6dB/-10dB @ 250Hz+6dB/-10dB @ 1KHz+/-14dB @ 7KHz+2dB @ 50Hz/ -10dB @ 500Hz/+3dB @ 7 KHzOwners ManualPart # 160-0630-A2MB 2004 BANDEQAMPAMPDimensions:Height: 2.50" [63.50mm] ( With Rubber Feet)1.75" [44.45mm] ( Without Rubber Feet)Width:7.75" [196.85mm]Depth:8.00" [203.20mm]Weight:Power requirements:MB20010AUX INHEADPHONES12LINEOUT2.00 lbs. 11. Wow!! - good thinking, an absolute classic Bass Rig
  12. Wonderful, beautiful sounding amps Had one from the mid 70's through to the mid 80's - sounded sooooo good through various cabs and never missed a beat (unlike me) In fact if memory serves, I may still have the dedicated beautifully crafted, wood finish footswitch to switch the graphic in and out, up in the attic somewhere - eeeeeek!! What are the dimensions and the weight by the way? - nooooooo get thee behind me o Satan of GAS - type bump
  13. Great review - thank you. I need something as small as possible so It's down to a choice between one of these wee jobbies, which I haven't and won't get a chance to 'try before I buy' and a GK MB200 - which I have owned before and really liked So I'm if'ing & r'ing between tried and tested & the dreaded GAS for something new? - get thee behind me Satan !!
  14. Ah yes, thank you I've had a BG250 and they are very feature packed - not tried the Nano but had several LM2's & 3's a couple of F1's and LMK's plus the combos which all had the filters that the Nano doesn't and I used them 'a lot'
  15. Has anyone tried 'both' of these amps, or by any chance A/B'd them? I've had a couple of MB200's in the past and loved them dearly, but have not tried an Elf Having just sold my combo and regained my BF One10 I need a very small amp to keep my cab company in the minuscule Bass space allocated to me by the current Kitchen Viper - all donations gratefully received - thank you ps - or other amp suggestions of course?
  16. Bought a combo from Gary - everything went like clockwork and I would heartily recommended to anyone Thanks again Gary, it was an absolute pleasure dealing with you Cheers Tim
  17. In really excellent, fully operational condition - Made in Italy 801 Combo, complete with brand spanking new Roqsolid dust cover. This is by far the best practise / studio / small acoustic Gig combo I've ever had the pleasure of owning. Allegedly they are also superb as DB reinforcement, however I can't vouch for this being a mere Mortal Tiny footprint at 27cm W x 27cm H x 26.5cm D and weighs just 7.2kg on digital bathroom scales. Here are the specs we all love :- SPEAKER: 1x8" BASS PORT: rear IMPEDANCE: 8 ohms CONTROLS: Level /VPF SPEAKER POWER HANDLING: 200W RMS (AES Standard) AMP OUTPUT POWER: 60W RMS @ 4 ohms / 45W RMS @ 8 ohms FREQUENCY RESPONSE: 60 Hz to 8 kHz WEIGHT: - 7.2Kg AUX IN HEADPHONES OUT XLR Line Out SPEAKER ON/OFF Cash on collection preferred - However, if you are too far away I can post out via Parcelforce 48 - which will cost just over £20 insured - so we could go halves at £285.00 delivered to the UK Mainland.
