  1. These really are cracking Basses, the build quality on mine is exceptional plus the scale length makes them sooooooooo easy to play. They also seem to be quite far and few between these days, as it took me a couple years to find mine. I think I saw a red one very recently on eBay & they were asking around £750. ps - Santa is bringing me some Black Nylon La Bella Flats for Xmas - can't wait 🎅🏻😃👍👍
  2. Yes, that's what I meant by sideways movement - it's 'not a lot' but can help on some Basses to line up better with pickup pole pieces, or to move a string slightly away from the edge of the fingerboard 👍👍
  3. I think the only benefits are that they tend to look the part on period Basses and arguably, provide a very small amount of sideways movement to improve alignment with pickup poles or neck.
  4. Thanks, but I'm looking for the 'threaded' style barrels.
  5. Yes, I saw these but didn't know if it was for one, or a set of four, bit pricey for a single barrel - thank you.👍👍
  6. Thank you, I was hoping to be able to just buy the barrels, or even better, the barrels with the string height and intonation screws, if possible being a 'tight old pensioner' 😂😂 - used ones would be just as good, if anyone has any? 👍👍
  7. Hi Guys, anyone know where I can obtain these from please?

  9. These are incredible instruments - the neck on mine is as good as anything I've owned, or even played during the past half Century 😳😳😍😍👍👍
  10. Thanks Twincam - not located my Stanley knife yet, so it may have to wait until the weekend 👍👍
  11. Managed to get the bottom of the bridge piece as flat as a Witches threepenny bit and despite a possible slight improvement, there is still a difference in volume - now, where's that Stanley Knife? 😃😃👍👍
  12. Thank you so much Chaps, your help is very much appreciated 👍👍 I'll check it out tomorrow and report back 😃
  13. I have a Tanglewood Shortscale (21") Electro Acoustic Bass which after shaving down the underside of the plastic bridge to lower the action, it appears that the volume on the E & A strings is not as loud as the D & G strings. Can anyone offer any advice please? Thank you 👍👍

  21. Thanks Guys, I'll have a scout around 👍👍
  22. Thanks Eude, I can imagine - 'good morning - kerching, how may we help you kerching' ? ☹️☹️
  23. Does anyone know if Warwick ever produced a German made Thumb Shortscale four string?? The long scale I had was way too heavy and too much of a stretch for my old arms ☹️ The closest I've found and it was very good actually, was the Far East manufactured Corvette Shortscale. Cheers 👍👍
  24. Hi, sorry it sold on Fleabay and I forgot to amend the post - apologies 😕🙂
