  1. I'm thinking of a Dad's Army quote, can you guess which one? 🤣
  2. Another masterpiece. That rear cavity cover is almost invisible in one of the photos. I hope you’ll post this on GC too, or at least a link to it.
  3. That Spector is getting a lot of exposure and I suspect that it is stoking some ferocious GAS hereabouts. I appear to be immune (so far) as I think it’s great but it hasn’t got me looking for them online - time will tell though 😂.
  4. I’ve subscribed to Lee’s channel, but I still watch them here too (it depends which I fire up first YT or BC, it’s normally BC). I like to add to the kudos as I wouldn’t have known about these videos in the first Bass if it wasn’t for @NoirBass 👏👏👏
  5. I'm not massively up on the different interface types, the cable mine came with was USB A -C (spec here https://www.thomann.de/gb/focusrite_scarlett_solo_3rd_gen.htm ).
  6. Garageband at the moment, but I'm also keen to check out Ableton as there's a free version available with the Solo.
  7. Just bought a solo (I looked at the PreSonus iOne too, but the reviews of the Solo were better and I’m not recording with my iPad or iPhone) and it’s great. TBH, I don’t have anything to compare it to, this being my first USB interface, but the quality seems pukka; I’m glad I went the extra £20.
  8. Mmm, big jazz box 🤤 (stop it, all of you, right now 😂)
  9. I had one of those, the Big Singles are lurvley. I’m a largish guy (6 foot, 85kg) and I eventually found it a bit small for me. Beautifully put together and light as a light thing.
  10. Ditto. He is amazing, hasn’t changed in look, voice or talent in decades. Amnesia and Rumour & Sigh still do it for me.
  11. Corts have always offered massive bang for buck and a singlecut would be different. However, when have Yamaha ever made a less than excellent instrument at any price point? Although, I’d have to go for the trans black rather than the fingerprint magnet, but that’s just me. Interesting choice, I doubt you’ll be disappointed either way and if it were me, it’d probably come down to aesthetics and weight.
  12. Good Lord, man! 👏👏👏 Now if you could just go back and TAB it out for us too. Ooh, is that my coat? It’s ok, I’ll get it myself. 😂
  13. And the size of the room to house said sitting place (and basses).
  14. A jazz playing friend of mine just shared this on Facebook. No, not jazz, ladles and jelly spoons - Celtic Prog!
  15. According to the Fender website, the Vinteras are P bass width too. Shops seem to be quoting narrower, but I reckon Fender are right.
  16. I’m lucky enough to be a 20min drive from my local GG and a train and tube journey from The Gallery. I’d always give these guys a chance to match an online price, or get very close, and buy the kit I’ve tried.
  17. From another Surrey denizen (well that’s what it says on my address).
  18. Peter Gabriel - Secret World Live Wishbone Ash - Argus & New England Dire Straits - The first 2 albums Eric Johnson - Ah Via Musicom (plus Venus Isle at a pinch) Steely Dan - The Royal Scam & Aja Rush - R30 (before Geddy’s voice really went south, or any best of) The Police - Regatta & Zenyatta Robben Ford - Robben Ford & The Blue Line Deep Purple - Made in Japan & Made in Europe Steven Wilson - Home Invasion (live @ the RAH) Marillion - 6 of One, Half Dozen of the Other Runrig - Long Distance (best of) The Who - Who’s Next (although I prefer Quadrophenia) Bad Co - Bad Co Led Zeppelin - The Mothership (for me Physical Graffiti and Houses of the Holy would do it) Pink Floyd - Pulse YMMV

I had a ‘59 Bassman (4x10) reissue for guitar duties back in the day for which it was awesome, the best sounding guitar amp I’ve ever owned/played through. When the low end came a calling, I obviously wondered what my new bass would like through it. It sounded great. However, IIRC it did rattle a bit as they were then built for midrange and up guitars, rather than thunderously low P bass action.
