  1. I did a play along with a demo my band did yesterday, just recorded it on my iPhone and even put on some of my gig attire. It was pretty lo-fi, but it was fun, kept our followers amused and might result in something involving the entire band (if someone in the band has the expertise to synch the performances up).
  2. And here’s the problem. Perhaps @pepsi-abi is new enough to our community to be able to show some restraint and wait the lockdown out. For those of us ‘old hands’ on the forum, I know full well I would get impatient and just order one (yeah, you who are GAS afflicted know you would too 😂) and send it back it if required.
  3. Ain’t that the truth? 😂 Whilst the video is clearly an homage to Pino, it is a great line, well executed and kudos to Madge for keeping it on the track.
  4. Sounds like you’ve already made a solid choice on the type of instrument you want and, for what it’s worth, I agree with the other folks in choosing the CV. I’ve played both CV P and J basses in the past and they seem really well built and punch well above their price point, plus they make great platforms for upgrading later.
  5. I love playing it, the problem I have is that PG’s vocals come in on slightly different beats and I really have to concentrate in order to follow the pattern and not the voice.
  6. The Elwood Absolution has block inlays and a bound body.
  7. I recommend TL’s Beyond The Bass Clef for many more anecdotes, including this one.
  8. WoT certainly has an eye for the fine details. I’m rather liking the look of lollipop tuners since trying a JMJ Mustang recently and they really work on sshorepunk’s potential build.
  9. Just a couple I remembered seeing previously. I’ve owned a GWB35 myself, fab basses that punch above their price point.
  10. Deke was a great writer, Rhino Winos & Lunatics is one of my top ten reads: proper laugh out loud memories from his time in The Man Band.
  11. Given the custom nature of Maruszczyks it would be hard to point out the differences (pickups, preamp, scale length, hardware, etc) without more info. All we can say is that the Elwood L would very probably be much lighter because it is chambered and the balance probably better because of the usual 3 over 2 headstock with lightweight tuners.
  12. Try adjusting the truss rod to put some more relief in the neck and then, if required, raise the action.
  13. Double Trouble are one of my favourite rhythm sections. Tommy and Chris’ work with Storyville is often overlooked, which is a travesty.
  14. 😍 I thought we were meant to be staying calm, my pulse rate and blood pressure just went up! I played this a while back https://thebassgallery.com/collections/bass/products/sadowsky-metroline-ms5 and had hoped it would be, "Meh!" suffice to say it was not. Extended lockdown may lead to uncontrollable GAS, which will lead to domestic discomfort I would imagine and I can't get out to escape. 😬😂
  15. I don't know which one the Sadowsky was, but I like the grey one best (I think).
  16. That headstock logo really does spoil it. I know it’s been talked about before, but it bears repeating. 😖
  17. Personally, I like your style. Enjoy.
  18. 2 Sadowskys this month! You are a bad (and lucky) man.

    Arrrg!

Another vote for the water and soldering iron method. I’ve done this a few times, always works for me.
  20. The discounted one they had in Guitar Village in Farnham went very quickly, which pleased Lady Ez and my wallet, now you go and post this. Bad man! 😬
