Do the nut slots ever become too loose when you reduce your string guage, or does it not matter if they're cut properly?

As a lot of folks have already mentioned, the most obvious comparisons would be Madness or The Specials at the point where they'd become a lot more pop-rock than ska revival. Or maybe Dexys Midnight Runners. So, 80's pop-rock. I'd have said "new wave", but it's one of those terms like "hardcore" that's come to mean very different things to different people.

NYXLB130T for long scale, NYXLB130TSL for super long I haven't tried this with NYXLs, but it worked alright for me with their bog-standard nickel rounds - the taper meant I was able to fit a beefy 145 B string into a Fender-style BBOT bridge without too much trouble.

Most of the first Oasis album is like that - the producer varispeeded (varisped? 😅) each track to whatever he thought sounded good, so they're all off A440 to varying degrees. Sadly this doesn't seem to have any effect on the number of tribute acts 😆

Great - thanks! It's good to have confirmation that it was a problem at one point. All I can find more recently is that they've been using loudness normalisation based on LUFS (like all the other streaming services) since around 2015, so videos may have their overall playback level statically adjusted to sound similarly loud, but there shouldn't be any alteration to the dynamic range of an individual video. Apparently peak limiting _is_ possible if you really push the boundaries, but I couldn't find any examples or anything to suggest this is something people run into under normal circumstances.

The audio/video is compressed to a smaller file size, reducing the bitrate and perceived "quality". I don't think YouTube also applies volume/dynamic range compression to the audio though, i.e. like a compressor effect.

People figured out how to extract the files from the Guitar Hero / Rock Band video games, so any songs that have ever featured in those will have multi-track stems floating around the web. They usually get taken down by copyright claims whenever they're posted publicly like this, but inevitably they pop up again somewhere else soon after 😆. You can download the whole lot in one go if you know where to look - I''d guessing the owner of the channel has done that, and is using a script to upload them.

7kg is not necessarily too heavy... but it's double the weight of many of its competitors. That, plus the fact that it's a fairly bulky lunchbox shape, makes it comparatively a lot less portable. Now those factors won't matter to a lot of people, and that's fine! But Laney have made it unattractive to those of us who need to be able to, say, shove their amp in a backpack. It's a puzzling set of design choices, given that they managed to fit the entire pre-amp and DI into a 750g pedal.

They're great straps - I've got the black-and-white version. Really comfy padding, and the little slots to hold plectrums are dead handy!

Yeah - I did qualify it as "apparently" "inspired by", because there looks to have been a lot of assumptions about it (which are not in MXR's interest to correct!). Ovnilabs describes it like this: "People who want minimal coloration will be pleased, but people who want "tone magic" will be disappointed. Because of the claims about the M87 being "based on" the Urei 1176, consumers may assume or wish that the M87 will give them a famous vintage tone quality. It will not. It's a great-sounding pedal, it's better than a good percentage of the other pedals out there, but it is not a magic vintage recording-studio tone box. Is the treble control boost-only, and the bass control cut-only, or am I misinterpeting the symbols?
