  1. Here,s how a Foundation sounds, watch it all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DoxVI-GovA The volume jump on my generation is pulling the neck volume back a baw hair. I think it sounds fine and there is no PA support ,just amp n cab
  2. Try it out ,I,ve got a SP212 with a Terror 500 head .This little box can take a lot of power and fills the room. I also use an OBC115 as well and the little box keeps up no problem. I was after another SP212 to run with 2 cabs but the OBC 115 came up at a you couldn,t turn it down price. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DoxVI-GovA This a sp212 ,terror head,no PA support and a Peavey Foundation bass with the super ferrites
  3. Hiho,BDI21 ,great pedal-got mine S/H 10 years ago for £6.I use it live in front of amps,DI to PA without an amp as well as record with it. I do 100 or so gigs a year and practice on top. It,s never missed a beat. I use this all the time even open mic/jam nights that,s how good it is . For the price it,s a no brainer and I cannae stand that phrase but it really is.
  4. HihoThanks for that.,The body is identical to my 84 apart from the colour as you say,the neck has a 92 serial and feels fatter a bit more a D shape than a C. Any idea what the body wood is. I,ve gigged this one a few times already and it plays like a good yin,got that ferrite snarl like my other one-happy days. Did you like playing it.
  5. [attachment=234697:DSCN0505.JPG] here you are piccie of Forum 95.and a Foundation 84
  6. Anyway gigged my 92 Foundation on friday and it passed with flying colours. Loving the black n maple
  7. Hiho,I,ve been using an Orange terror bass 500 for 4 years now and still very happy.Stick a pedal in front of amp and away you go. Get a later one with the fixed DI and better valves.Another great feature is that it will run at 500 watt at 8 and 4 ohm. Hope this helps
  8. Haw Blair yer the master of under statement. Hows the black prototype coming along, loved the look of that one.
  9. Hiho I have another Foundation to go with my 84 sunburst. It,s a 92 with super ferrites ,black n maple. [attachment=234089:foundations.jpg] The neck feels a little bit thicker than the 84 but not by much. You got to love the black n maple. Very pleased,it,s got the snarl of the 84 but the maple body maybe gives it an edge.It might be the strings right enough.I was glad that the 92 sounds very similar as I love the sound.
  10. [attachment=232998:orange.jpg]Hiho-I use an Orange TB500 with a SP212 and an OBC115 . I am very happy with them. SP212-small ,one hand lift, tight sound and very loud with loads of bottom. OBC115-big,heavy,load it in on a trolley.Looser sounding, growls more, very loud. Both together-can go insanely loud with more to come, volume at 10 0clock,about 4 in the other scale. They go very well with the TB500 head. If your after sound-OBC115,if space and weight is the deciding factor-SP/OBC212 but either is good
  11. hiho, just stick a sansamp or behringer bdi21 in front of the amp and you got it
  12. Hiho been using mine for almost 4 years now. It,s the later one with the DI fixed ,better valves and capacitors. Best amp ever.100 gigs a year and practice on top .The trick is getting the EQ right. For flat EQ bass-9 o clock,middle-12 o clock,treble-3 o clock and take it from there.my settings are bass-3 o clock, middle 12 o clock,treble-12 o clock,gain-11 o clock, volume whatever needed on the night usually 10 0 clock
  13. Hiho, great buy. Take the 10,s out the 410 cab and use it as a stand for the 15-job done
  14. I don,t have a soundclip but I do have a thumper in my franken-P .Very good is my opinion. When I ordered my thumper over the phone to Andy, lovely guy ,he told me that the thumper was higher output and volume flat out was like turning to 11 pushing the front of the amp a bit more, tone flat out had higher presence. To get back to P-bass levels you backed the volume back a little bit and the tone and you were back to meaty P .In use it is more flexible than that .There is quiet a few thumper users on here.
  15. Terror does 500 into 8 ohm as well, kinda think that is a cool feature that more amp makers could consider.
  16. Dunlop superbright stainless strings ,last for ages, very smooth for stainless
  17. Orange Terror bass 500 will give you loads of Orange sound, not far away from an AD 200.they do sound better with Orange cabs though. Terror bass head is very powerful and loud and you get the whole 500 at 4 or 8 ohm. EQ has flumoxed a few people including me,flat is-bass 9 oclock,middle-12 oclock,treble-3 oclock. I like my one at 4 ish on gain-volume 4 ish.,plenty loud.
  18. +1 on the USA SUB ,playing mine for 13 years now and not even a scratch on the finish-gig proof finish.Slab body like the classic. Treble and bass are powerful so watch how much you cut and boost
  19. Just copy a 212 Orange cab,there are 2 models-SP212 and OBC212. I use a SP212 ,the old one for 3 1/2 years now and it sounds great.
  20. +1 on the super brights I use stainless ones and as it says they are super bright but have a good bottom end as well like a grand piano.I change mine every 8 or so months and they go on my P-bass till I change them. Low tension is nice and they are pretty smooth for stainless, bed down nicely and keep a great tone for a long time. I gig twice a week with practice during week and they last..
  21. Hiho, just use it or try out a Terror 500,swear by mine. I do like the OBC115 as well.I use one with my Terror and a SP212 or both.
