1.
It could well be the valve going microphonic, which happens when they are old, hopefully changing the valve could sort out the feedback. JJ Tesla vales are one of the best quality replacements.
well thanks for the replies, turned out it was a cracked preamp valve n all is good now.finally hearing what a crackin amp this is.thanks for the help
2. hi,i have a marshall mb450.it has a valve in the pre amp.the problem i,m havin is when you stop playing the rig goes into bass feedback which is like low mids howling.the only way to stop this is to damp the strings.the overall sound is very low mid to the point of booming.i have used different basses and it remains the same.i have used these basses on other amps and there is no problems so i think i can rule out the basses.could this be the pre amp valve/tube on the way out?
3. hi ,didn,t 4003,s have hot wound pick ups for a while before they reverted to vintage spec n put the push pull switch in to give the vintage bass low mid cut sound?.my 99 jetglo is very hot n is louder than my musicman by quite a bit.i can,t remember the years that they ran with the hot windings but there is a huge bottom end on it. to do it on the cheap, get a fakiebacker as cheap as n get the electronics off a line 6 variaxe bass n a can of black gloss.sorted. just as good as is to get a black scratchy n trc ,jetglo n go.once you get the sound dialed in with a bass driver you,ll forget what shape the neck is,pure ear candy.enjoy
4. hiho,2 weeks ,2months out of a battery on a mm.my mm the batteries last about 12 months n that,s giggin twice a week n 2 x 4 hour practices n doodles inbetween.i use duracell.i would suspect a problem or it,s time to invest in rechargeable ones.do ebs heads not have phantom powering for pedals n basses built in?.if any bass manufacturers want to use this simple idea, brown envelope please n a sample of wares for testing purposes will be gratefully recieved.
5. hiho,if your after a small combo that,s big on tone n volume the look no further than a roland.i use a roland db700 n it,s the best sounding amp i,ve ever had.the newer ones have 300 watt n the choice between a 15" or a 2x10".try one out.
6. hi i use a db 700 n tone n power wise you need look no further.best kept secret going.easy to dial a sound up.wouldn,t part with mine.also use a hartke n a marshall mb450.would be awesome with a powered extension,in fact might get an extension myself
