1. I,ve had a wonderful few hours fitting a seymour duncan to my SUB. first thing SUB has 2 wires-white and a black, not the 5 that the duncan has.Seymour duncan wiring diagram has the green ,white and bare one soldered on the back of a pot. Sub doesn,t.,they go direct to PCB.Easy to work out as the black one has a + and the white one has a -. Red and black attached to the black original one-green,white and bare to the white one-it works.I have a funny feeling that it,s parallel wired, Seymour duncan 4ds has bar magnets across the bottom so you cant use the original springs-pick up too high so mouse mat foam then. Pick up lead fouls the bottom of the magnets so a small sliver of wood come out of the channel / hole for the wire to clear the magnet. hope this helps
2. Here,s a photo of mine,blue one,still going strong.
3. P-bass,can,t go wrong, hot rod them ,leave them alone, whatever. A modern active p-bass,get a MM Sub. Vintage do a good clone-you can fit the vintage brand MM clone maple neck to the V4-it fits straight in and you have an extra fret as well.
4. It,ll be very active on christmas day very nice
5. The average length of a piece of string is- 10 1/4 " inches-fact Colour-black goes with most things, just ask the ladies-little black dress is the classic in the wardrobe.
6. hiho, try out behringer bdi21,great buy. Get one s/h. true bypass so you have 2 sounds at your feet,DI into PA and forget about amp,you can.If your amp goes down, your still in the PA. I,ve had mine for years and would not leave the house without it. I got it to try out the sansamp thing without spending loads to see if I liked it with the view of getting a sansamp .It,s done the job and I haven,t got round to getting one yet. I,ve had it for years now and got it s/h and it,s still going strong. Hartke vxl is good to but I prefer the simplicity of the bdi.
7. Hi,the i5" extension is a cracker, got mine cheap s/h. I got a db700 years ago cause I too got fed up lugging ampeg around. The roland has a far better sound, great compressor, chorus I never use, switchable pre amp-ss and tube emulation and overdriven tube. I kept my eyes open till one come along at the right price and small lightweight rig that has a tone to die for and really loud .It,s very flexible cause you use the combo when you don,t need a lot of beef and use the 2 when you want to shake the world. They were not cheap when they come out. The ext cab can run subwoofer mode or full range with control for the tweeter-330 watt on wheels,It,s a lot lighter than the combo. They do come up s/h but most people hang on to them.In the older range they made a db900 which has 4x10" speakers and 2x12" radiator speakers.I will get one . Cracking amps and very underated apart from people in the know.
8. Great band and have done some good songs. With reference to the song-it works. I hope us bass players don,t have to be ugly, short, fat ,bald members who have to hide at the side of the stage again. In my eyes you are a musician when writing and recording material then you are a performer when playing the songs live. Stage persona I think it,s called or stage face. Mind you we could all stand still and dazzle people with virtuosity and play jizz oops jazz.
9. Hi I,ve had one from new since 80 something, transparent blue with original aria case. Best neck I,ve ever had. Nice and light, fabulous action-I have never adjusted it from day one. Considering it was a budget type bass at the time they were really well built and finished. My one is bolt on neck but they did make set neck ones as well. I,ve often wondered if I should squeeze a musicman pick up in it and run it passive. Either that or get Andy at Wizard to do a rewind sprinkle some magic on it.It would be worth it cause it,s a great bass to play.
10. I,ll keep you informed of things-thanks for the heads up grandwazoo think we,re on a winner here. If I don,t like it epi t-bird pro is gettin routered-here,s johnny
11. Hiho,it,s the 2 band-ooops,might be the same though-maybe.
12. Anybody know where the white/green and the bare wire go before I open her up,red and black are self explanatory I think.
13. That derminted guy saying good night
14. it does work due to the solder being very hard to stick to the bridge
15. They are great,I have 2,one a musicman and one on a t-bird. Have fun.
16. I will be fitting a 4d at the weekend so I,ll let you know if I like it and what the difference is to my ears. I didn,t see the point of fitting an alnico one when there was an alnico one already there.
17. Try the pro version out you might like it. It,s worth it for the bridge alone and the head won,t fall off if you give it a crack. It,s not made in korea but china if that means anything nowadays.
18. Wizard thumper all the way, cheaper than seymours and you rarely see them s/h.That says a lot. Better to give Andy a call and he will sort you out.
19. hiho, just stick it under the bridge when you tighten the screws down-mine has been like this for years.
20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XTGVOAp7tE&feature=related oops another one
21. Andy Scott-what a guitar player.Tottaly underated. He did all the layered stuff, listen to Action-big layers of guitars and vocals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6JIMWhERbA Top stuff this
22. HI,hows this for a thought-bass pod-power amp-cab ( s ) bass pod-good DI and good monitor or be reckless VBA marshall head and 4x12 cabs. I,m off to take the dog for a walk.
23. I went through the tried everything route and have settled for 2 rigs now that are flexible Roland d-bass combo with extension marshall mb450 head and 2 2x10 cabs All picked up s/h hand apart from original roland combo which replaced ampeg head and cab. I have the flexability to use one combo or head and one cab or beef it up if needed. Roland is a superb piece of kit.Marshall is old school rock sound which I prefer to the ampeg rig. I do like the sound of big EBS rigs but can,t justify on price grounds . Roland don,t seem to make the big watt combos any more which is a shame as they are fabulous pieces of kit.most users keep quiet about them and smile.
24. Take the neck off and cut the last 2 frets off then when the bass is ruined go and buy a short scale one and a standard scale to replace the knackered one. looking for my hat, scarf and gloves
25. It is straight forward and what was said -the bounce is the thing, groovy bounce.
