1. I,ve had my vintage v4 for a good few years now and I got it s/h for a steal and for the money it,s a great bass. [sharedmedia=core:attachments:87061] I fitted a maple neck off a vintage musoman one cause they didn,t make a maple necked version at the time. I,ll be giggin it tonight again
2. Choose your masques for me Spirit of the age was a cracker as well, what a track.
3. It,s moved Almost straight ahead of the entrance to central station or exit if your coming off the train. It was a nice fireglo but seeing as I,ve got a jetglo .

8. Can,t beat a good Rick I,m afraid I,m a jetglo man keep on
9. Hiho I,m thinking about replacing my roland db700 and powered roland extension cab. I,m happy with the roland set up cause I can use the combo for practice small gigs and add the ext for more ooomph and I,m happy with the sound They have been totally reliable over the years-100%. Space ,weight is my reason for thinking about change for playing pub gigs. Are they reliable as I gig every week. have they got a good sound have they got a big enough sound for pub gigs-If I need to go big I have a marshall stack so no worries there. cheers
10. I use a bass floor pod headphones,cd-mp3 input for practice. You need a power supply as it doesn,t have battery option but apart from that silent practicing. Now I get flack cause the strings make a clackity clack sound which disrupts others watching jeremys piles on the box. Can,t win
11. hiho, why not get a pre-amp pedal Saves a lot of work and you could use it for any bass or situation ie going ampless live or in studio.
12. Vintage v4 good bass for the price get a s/h one, ideal for modding.
13. Stick a behringer bdi21 in front of it Worth a try You want a new amp though-GAS
14. Cheap as chips upgrade time Behringer bdi21 pre amp-DI box all in one Get one s/h nice and cheap,if you don,t like it-sell it on Lots of happy users on here Works for all basses even active ones. If you like what it does you can upgrade to hartke vxl, sansamp, line 6 and A N other plenty of choice.
15. check the solder joint on the input jack where it joins the board. had this with a zoom ,the solder was cracked on the board with sticking the jack in-found cracks looking at joints with magnifying glass-resoldered still working 7 years later I had the same problem with a musicman bass where the jack plug prongs were soldered to the pcb.Musicman still going strong. hope this helps.
16. Get a pre amp pedal Behringer bd1 21 turn down the level-hey presto sorted and you can use it as a DI box as well. Cheap as chips and a lot of people swear by them. I also use a line 6 bass pod live and a hartke vxl as well and do the same. DI into the PA and use your amp as a monitor-sorted
17. It,s simple Fat string, next to fat string, next to thin string, thin string then No hold down,no dot,no dot,-dot,-no dot,-dot -no dot,-dot-no dot-dot-no dot,no dot-double dot Double dot is the same as no hold down at the far away end Here,s the clever bit to impress people -it repeats itself again from double dot towards the other hand waving about near yer depending if you swing low or scratch yer armpits a bit ,roughly where yer belly button is. Simples
18. Buy a dirt cheap bass and use it on the down tuned stuff. Use your beautiful tone monster for the standard tuned stuff
19. [sub]I,m a 2 x 2x10 man myself[/sub]
20. Legacy= 8 squid a throw
21. NOS schallers, can,t go wrong, got a set off fleabag for buttons still in box-quality These replaced wilkinson ones which were fine-I just liked the yellowing colour of old chrome ones which went better with a maple neck. Vanity
22. Vintage pretty ok for the cash.Does what it says on the tin. Wilkinson hardwear and electrics-nuff said I gig mine and through a good amp it sounds pretty good
23. hiho The neck is 34" standard length but due to the placement of the top strap button it pushs the end of the neck further away to the left if your a rightie. You soon adjust. Is it a pro4 active or the new classic? I,ve got the pro4 active and have played the classic-both are decent basses.I would have a punt on the classic as well if they made one in black but very happy with my pro4. Been giggin it for 2 years now,no issues Enjoy your new bass and I hope you like as much as I do
