Saab 9-3 hatchback never below 45mpg comfy,plenty of room,diesel. list is endless of stuff and passengers stuffed in. Saab 9-5 is bigger still,mate in band has one of these

I got the head and cab cheaper than the combo. I do the pub circuit,plenty loud and a sound I like. A lot of talk about the cabs but they work in the real world. I,m not in the PA anymore. Easy lift,cab in one hand,head in bag over shoulder,gig bag in other hand-sorted.

[u]I tried one in promenade a few weeks ago ,maybe the same one[/u] I liked it and it sounded good. I didn,t think it was chunky or heavy. nice bass

hiho,I,ve heard that the newer ones have had the di output tamed as well as different valves which tames the gain a bit but you can still get the full monty just that it,s more controllable. I don,t know if that,s right but mine doesn,t really dish dirt until 12 oclock. I have found that it doesn,t like line6 bass pod with a musicman. At practice last night I plugged in my old faithfull bdi21 and it just come alive,level set at unity gain.everything 12 oclock. Gigging at weekend so I,ll keep you all updated. I might try some revalving when I get payed. Heard good reports with harma 12ax7 and ecc81 which might be 12at7 or 12 au7 summit like that. Would just changing v1 be enough or is it better to change v1 and v2 or ecc81 in v1 and a ecc83 in v2 or vice versa or just suck it and see. I know there is a post in technical bit,I ,ll have another read of it.

I,ve got one of the newer ones and decoding the serial number it appears to be made in febuary 2013 Plenty loud with the 2x12 isobaric cab I,m not in the PA anymore Gain about 10-11 oclock and volume the same and big beefy and loud. Not polite but wowee,just nice 1000 watt and 2 isobarics would be evil,so would the 500 one with 2 cabs. Great amp and cab for live work.

[i]I haven,t compared them [/i] I,m using a tb500 with a sp212 without PA and plenty loud,plenty bottom and mids. Don,t know how it works but it fills the room,doesn,t sound too loud solo! but add the rest of the band and it does it so I,m not thinking about the physics just enjoying the ride. Does the job -no worries. Try one out is the best I can think of.

I have trouble in some pubs with a OTB and cab. I,ve got a bigger sandwich box.

hiho you can get an orange bass terror head for under 500 easily I paid £379 brand new for mine Runs 4 or 8 ohm at 500 watt if you want to turn it up full if you can nice and compact,lightweight and a funky li"ll bag for it

I got an orange tb500 head and a sp12 cab last week. gigged it twice now and can,t believe the sound and volume of this set up. The cab in the real world defies physics. Try one out but it,s in the mix where you feel ,hear it.It just fills the room. It doesn,t cut through the mix but steamrollers through. Comments from people are-jeez the building shaking,I can feel it in my stomach,what a sound etc. One guy who plays in bands made the comment that I was too high up in the mix and I replied that I wasn,t in the PA. I,m impressed and it,s the sound I,ve been after.

I,ve just got an Orange terror bass head and cab-500 watt one you can put it on standby and the DI line will give a signal to mixing desk for recording/PA whatever,pretty neat trick that

Ehhh can you speak up Hearing still wonky My ears have fallen into my mouth cause my smile is so wide Those smartpower 2x12 cabs throw some grunt,I,m wondering what 2 of those 2x12,s would be like I really like the fact that there is no tweeter I,ve used a lot of different amps over the years but this one with cabinet takes some beating. I tried it back to back with #arkbass and a valve #shdown head and the sp12 cab and the bass terror was the one. Grammar is terrible-apologies

just back from gig That was good You can get louder cabs-are you mental Quote-you were a bit loud in the PA-wasn,t in PA everything 120clock,gain 9 0clock,volume 9 oclock,good job I didn,t crank it then. HAPPY DAYS-I,m shouting cause ma hearing is a bit woofed.

Put the spare,spare head in the car you are towing and you,ll still have room for a spare bass and cab just in case.

I watched the review on guitar interactive and I was impressed. I have a line 6 bass pod,hartke bass attack and a bdi21 so pre is no problem if needed I,ll be playing a Rick,Thunderbird and a Musicman through this so should do the buisness. Cab/cabs I will try out what they have tomorrow and have room to change my mind on this one but the small size is a winner with me. I do have PA support when gigging so insanely loud is fine as I don,t think I will be needing stupid loud yet,mind you another cab could sort that if I,ve got any hearing left. This is scary spending all this money but you need the tools for the job-keep repeating as needed. Thanks to all for input,you are a good bunch. pics and review after saturdays gig will be forthcoming and I think I,ll be grinning like a buffoon or looking for another band Just had a thought -they will hear all my jazz notes now. I have done the ampeg thing with the 8x10 and have lovely tendonitis to remind me of the old girl. Right I,ll get off the now cause I,m starting to write a book. I,m not even spending my own money cause me misses is getting it for me. It looks like I,ll have to perform twice on saturday Happy days

Hiho, Going to purchase one of these on saturday. I,m getting the 500 watt head and a 2x12 matching cab-the isobaric one. Just wondering if they are reliable cause I gig twice a week. Of course the usual do they sound good and are they loud. I,ve heard the DI is a bit hot , Any experiences would be good. Cheers
