  1. Slipping away from Mob rules must be in the mix here. 🤔
  2. Your current setlist looks really interesting and it's inspiring that you are playing together after 10 years.
  3. Dave asked Jello to sing on his MD.45 album and they used a DK/Ice T track as their intro music on the Rust in peace tour.
  4. Well played CJPJ, that bass part gives me left hand cramps. I want to move it towards the end of our set so I can warm up and then finish wish Malice.
  5. I never like the stone roses even though a few of their bass parts were very musical and catchy. After watching the shane meadows documentary I found I really enjoy their music.
  6. I finally got to see Testament last year and Steve Digorgio was amazing. His work with Death and Iced Earth was pretty good too.
  7. Spandex was more glam rock than thrash tbh Metallica might have worn some in 1981 though 🙄
  8. Dd verni was endorsed by bc rich basses ghs strings and peavey/Marshall amps. I think the difference in their sound was the active pickups and they mixed their albums so you could hear the bass. W f o has a very loud bass sound for a metal album.
  9. I really like that bass tone and playing. Thanks for sharing.
  10. Didn’t fat mike smash the headstock on Melvins head one night? On backstage passport dvd
  11. I need to give the recent stuff another listen I lost touch after why do birds sing
  12. What are you planning to play in your set? I know the first album is generally considered to be their most popular but I have a soft spot for the third album too.
  13. David borrowed a Yamaha eight string from jimmy Bain and wrote dawn patrol with it.
  14. Been a fan since among the living and always thought Charlie and frankies rhythm section set them apart. Seems like nice down to earth guy.
  15. Great bass playing and I like the singers voice
  16. I stumbled across his videos when I was looking for YouTube videos of vintage Ibanez basses. I’ve followed his videos for 4/5 years now and really enjoy them. To each their own.
  17. Saw them when they played Milton Keynes a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. The singer leaving the stage during instrumental pieces bothered me a little.... still enjoyed the show great music, lights, lasers, inflatables Brit floyd were very good too, saw them a couple of years ago.
  18. Pickup looks stock. The roadster rs824 and rs924 came with dimarzios.
  19. I've used a few of the cover solutions videos to help me learn songs that I play in my covers band.
  20. I've been working on some theory and watching some of the Scott Devine videos on YouTube. I'm also learning some new covers outside of my own personal taste in music for an audition I have coming up. Worked for me in getting inspired about playing bass again. Best of luck.

  22. I always liked NoFXs song We threw gasoline on the fire and now we have stumps for arms and no eyebrows. Punk with a sense of humour can be quite refreshing.
  23. It's an 87, serial number starts F73.... My first RB760 was an 87 similar feel to this bass but I get more bottom end out of the RB851.
  24. I've had this for a few weeks now and now I've had a chance to use it in a practice session I thought I'd make a post. I wanted a similar bass to my musician bass that I can use for a couple of down tuned songs in our set. I've owned several roadstars and always regarded them highly. Swapping between my mc924 and this is effortless, the Roadstar doesn't have quite as much tonal palette as the musician but there's not much in it either. My RB850 is 3.8kg, the RB851 is only 3.6kg and the MC924 is 4.1kg. This was never exported to Europe, I've been lead to believe and the previous owner bought it directly from Japan. It's active like the later model RB850s but has an extra control knob which offers tone adjustments for each pickup. Also there is a body contour which reduces weight and hides my unsightly gut.
