1. I've owned Custom 4 and 5's, very nice. I found the string spacing a bit tight on the 5 string but I was used to Yamaha 5 strings at that time.
2. A fretless in that Amber finish would make me happy
3. Lawnmower deth did kids in America Xentrix did ghostbusters Nuclear assault covered good times bad times and ballroom blitz
4. Violent Femmes broke up in 2008 when Gordon Gano agreed to use the song Blister in the sun in a Wendy's burger advert. Brian Ritchie sued Gordon Gano as he didn't agree with the use of their music in this advert and lead to the break up of the bad. BTW I don't think Nuclear Assault covered Shake N Vac
5. Just arrived last week, an Ibanez Musician bass from 1987. Never tried the earlier Musician basses but have owned several Roadstar and Roadster basses. The body feels slightly smaller than my other Roadstars and the active pickups give a bit more boost to the signal. 6. My band love my 7215 combo and have asked me not to sell it but they aren't in a rush to help me load out either. Just wondering what extension cab might help give it a bit more warmth? Although it's rated at 200 watts it competes with two guitarists, drummer and vocal pa with never being turned past 6 o'clock.
7. I wasn't that impressed with anthrax on sound of white noise. John bush is a great vocalist but the material they wrote for him to sing over was quite bland and seemed like it was trying too hard to find a new sound. Maybe it was record company pressure as the thrash scene was dead in the mid nineties. Maybe Scott and Charlie really wanted to explore new sounds, I couldn't say but getting joey back in the band and touring with the big 4 seems to have reinvigorated them with a great album in worship music and a new one later this month. Metallica and megadeth have explored different styles with mixed results, Metallica will always sell more albums because they have a larger fan base to begin with. Whereas megadeth will release three or four albums in the same space of time that Metallica will release one.
8. Alice coopers - From the inside has a theme based on characters who have committed crimes while suffering from mental illness. Supposedly Alice met these characters while he was drying out in a clinic which sounds a little far fetched. I like the album and the songs follow a common theme with a gatefold sleeve on the lp.
9. Don't know anything about bring me the horizon, slip knot or steel panther so 7/10. Which I'm happy about.
10. I dropped out of gigging / practicing for five years as I started to see it as a chore and really couldn't be bothered. I found that playing the right songs with the right band to a receptive crowd can work wonders to restoring enthusiasm and I'm happily two thirds of the way to that point. The guys I'm practicing with are accomplished but without much ego and open to song suggestions and arrangement ideas.
11. Great news have you got many gigs booked for 2016?
12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0K_4bmBgQhk Great death metal with prominent bass
13. I liked death magnetic I'll buy the new album regardless To be fair they have taken chances with their music over the years which haven't always been accepted by their hardcore fans. The black album and loads took a little while to grow on me but I can appreciate some of that music now.
14. This has got to be the most pointless topic i have ever seen, and by god has there been some pointless ones. I just don`t understand it. Asking what the point of expensive kit is, which differs, because some people only have a few hundred pounds, and others have thousands. If i buy a £1000 bass, i would say that is expensive. Others might think that £500 is too much, where the other side of the scale, £5000 is acceptable. When people offer their views, it just seems that if you have a made in USA Fender, you are a snob because a Squire would do the job just as well. I hope that some people have never watched Metillica at Glastonbury, because they would be outraged with Robert Trujillo swapping basses every 2 songs or so. Might be different tunings used throughout their set plus Trujillo has his warwick endorsement and will have to advertise his signature model
15. Not a fan of gene Simmons or kiss music but I really enjoy the magazine and basschat article
16. Ive been considering this same situation a decent five string with wide string spacing at the moment im somewhere between yamaha trb and ibanez atk I need to find a shop which stocks these so I can try them out good luck in your search
17. I was struggling to find this magazine in WH Smiths so subscribe now. I know it gets a fair amount of criticism on here but I really enjoy the interviews and articles.

19. I read somewhere that Jason used ESP basses on the garage days re-revisited ep. I think there is a pic of Jason with Cliffs Aria bass on the sleeve though.
20. I can hear Jason's bass parts in the intro to the song AJFA and the slower part of Blackened, very quiet though. Jason wasn't present during the mixing sessions of this album as they were touring the Monsters of rock with Van Halen, Scorpions etc.
21. I think they released a few ajfa tracks for a guitar hero/ rock band game which fans then ripped into separate solo instrument tracks and uploaded onto different sites like YouTube
22. My rb850 had a factory shim in the neck pocket too. I thought it was a bit weird.
23. An rb650 has alluded me so far looks nice though
24. Bands like lawnmower deth are quite important in such a super serious genre if music so were acid reign
