  1. Line out from the one that only has line out in to effects return of the one that has effects return? Bass plugs in to the first amp in that scenario.
  2. Got almost an entire hour to myself today! This sanding business is a hard slog! Ruined the 40 grit paper, now moved on to the 80 (or was it 80 to 120?) but only have one sheet of each in the ‘My First Sander’ kit, so best be careful with it. Just the back panel to get the rough stuff off, then on to a final sand then finish can be applied!
  3. I still think you should chop the knob off at the top - would balance it visually if the top horn was same or a little bigger than the bottom one.
  4. I think I’m in love. Only my brain can only handle four strings.
  5. I can sympathise with the whole downstairs floor needing replacing. One year on and the edging strips are still not done! Lovely build as always!
  6. If both amps have effect send/return sockets, you could plug bass in to amp 1, then connect send from amp 1 to return of amp 2.
  7. I reckon that would work nicely if the top horn was reduced in size.
  8. So Finally got the sander and 10 minutes to myself! I had to drag my Peterson to rehearsal last night, and it reminded me why I need to get this one finished! Also have a gig on Saturday- will I make it? Lots of sanding to do, but I’m looking forward to the results.
  9. Next time I need to buy an amp, I’m getting an Ashdown!
  10. I am a little sceptical of expensive cables - is there a scientific explanation as to how their metal conducts a signal better than other manufacturers?
  11. Just got back from holiday where I’d been contemplating the meaning of life etc, so raring to go on this. Hopefully next pay day will be a handsome one so I’ll get all the bits I need and crack on! Will fire up the printer again this eve and get the thingy bob printed out to ponder over.
  12. Did I say this would be slow going?🤣 Got some bits, so this is where I am so far...
  13. I play in a 9 piece soul band, we do weddings mostly. Happy to walk away with £70 for 2x 45 minute sets. Would love to earn more from it, but hey ho.
  14. Can you put a pic up next to a bass to show scale? I can’t work out how big/small it is from those pics!
  15. I love the contrast of the modern body shape with the retro pickups and scratch plate. Nice.
  16. Ola peeps. I was initially attracted to Basschat by the excellent build threads for cabs. I was planning to jump in with a build, but then decided to go Barefaced instead. Ended up with two One10’s and they were great. Then I caught a nasty case of skintitis and had to sell them. Fow shizz buying a Two10 next year when funds allow, but for now, I have an excellent old Peavey cab loaded with Beyma ‘s, assembled by our own @fleabag. Today the sky, he cry. I got restless and was looking for something to mess with. I started tugging at the carpet covering on my cab after rehearsal and now i’m committing by posting this! I’m going to sand it down and if it looks half decent, I’ll put a dark stain on so it looks a little like my Peterson combo. If the wood ain’t that sharp, I’ll get some of that Tuff Cab in anything other than black.
  17. I see a kangaroo, a chicken, and a vagina. Not all at the same time.
  18. £50 for a custom jobby sounds more than fair - I paid that for my bog standard gold anodized aluminum one for my JV P.
  19. I won a set at the SW Bass Bash raffle! Never would have bothered otherwise. The novelty factor has worn off now, the coating is following suit! Been gigged a fair bit though, so if I were after green strings, I’d be happy with buying these again.
  20. Pretty sure Thems the ones currently adorning my lovely JV P. My favourites so far!
